HELP! aem fic problem!
so i just hooked up the FIC today on my ECU and the car started to run fine for a little bit.. then when we try to lean it out, the car bogs out and stalls. Right now we can start it up, but after a few seconds the car stalls again.. any ideas?
i think we might have some wiring problems with the crank and cam... anyone able to help me with how to wire these two?

I dont think this is a resistor issue...could be wrong but iv never had this kinda issue happen cause of not having em or having em
first do you have a cel pop up on ya? what are the codes? are you using a base map? what are the settings (setup)? whats your maf map look like? is maf pluged in properly and seated? any loose pipes or leaks? if you unplug the fic and run just the ecu does the car run fine? did you use a pnp harness? who is the maker of the harness (boomslang or aem)?

tell use how you wired the resistors up, if you can take a pic and post it would help. it is possible to wire them up incorrectly and cause a stalling issue.
try removing the resistors and tap up the striped section of wire and see what that does for ya.

well me and scionfred both couldnt get our cars to stay on with out resistor mod,
another possibilty is that his maf seeting is on percentage and that its all zero out....OUCH
go to setting and the to setup and maf sure the maf box is in voltage and not percent

really? thats weired...never had that happen to any of the cars iv tuned. Right now iv got my maf map set to percent and the map all zero's and it runs like stock but i also set the max voltage clamp to 4.5 i think. been getting ready to reinstall a turbo and wanted to get some datalogs and try out some new ideas.

oh wait thats right for datalogging u wanna use the percent when stock ughh yea, this is why i gave up and decided to have toan tune me
though clamping the voltage shouldnt have anything to do with it.
I really would like to see some of this stuff and help you guys out. you guys got some very intresting problems.

yea me and scion fred both cant get the car to run with resistors, and we also run into problems runnign both resistors
the best solution for us was actually just a resistor on the cam only i belive it was
btw what diode did you use..i picked up a couple to try out, waiting on ups since this morning only for them to lose my package that i had overnighted so i could finish up thes ideas. since boomslang doesnt give you the analog a and b leads as well as the 12volt switched lead (or pins for that matter) i had to order molex pins from allied. suppose to get them tommarow.
i havent used a diode thats why i wanted u to try it out, i just tapped it directly and was getting a reading but unfortunateley the the aem was interfeering so a diode has to be set in place so that only signalscan come to the fic from the sensor but not back out

but my setup is
550cc Deatschwerks injectors
walbro 225 fuel pump
turbonetics t3/t4
tial wastegate
hks bov
everything else is custom....
we hardwired the fic in there and when we took out all the wires (except power and ground) and hooked everything back up on the ecu, the car still stalls.... at first we were getting MAF sensor codes but later it turned off... hmm it might be the MAF problem... because we just drilled a hole on our charge pipe and stuck the MAF sensor in but there werent any leaks....
the weird thing was, when we returned it to the stock ECU, we can keep the car on by revving it (the car automatically stalls when we had the fic hooked up).... we are wondering if they're injectors....
im leaning towards a maf issue, this sounds like one of those deals where your going to have to go back and check each wire makeing sure you have a good solid contact and wires are routed correctly. Id start with the maf and then trace the wires for it making sure they are solid.
yea leaning towards the maf also i had this issue two years ago actually wher ei had to keep on the gas to keep it on now that i remember...to test if it is the maf unplug the maf connector and then start the car if it starts and idles then ts your maf ....you will be runnign hella rich so be weary....
anyways my problem was that when i inspected the maf sensor there was debris in the housing where the wire for the sensor was, try lookign for dirt/.debris and remove using maf cleaner

make sure u have a BASE MAP...W/ MAF CLAMP. i had so many issues w/ the fic, my tuner told me the wiring might be hooked up wrong, we thought it was the injectors we thought it was the maf sensor,
then crush sent me a base map w/ a maf clamp and voltage settings and presto!! car ran rich as ____ , but no bogging and no stumbles and stalls.
took it to the tuner and 30 mins later 269whp 255wtq. car has been running strong ever since and thats on a conservative tune at 8psi

the only issue its supposed to prevent is throwing a cam/crank code and the stutering at 5000rpms and above. some have run without them but i wonder if they know if their pnp harness already has the resistors on them, they can sometimes be easy to overlook. I just got an fic and pnp harness from chicotunner who had gotten it from a friend of weezyfbabay, this harness come to me with the resistors mod done to em by the og owner and the factory...lol...had all kinds of resistors on it...lol..so its kinda easy to overlook em
