Default HELP PLZ w/ Dezod S1 and AEM FIC

Hey, I installed a Dezod S1 kit yesterday.

I haven't run the car at all but to idle it and give it a little gas (2500 rpm max). No testing over load, in matter of fact the car hasn't even been lowered to the ground yet.

A few guys have given me their tunes but the car is running funny.

When it starts, it doesn't start instantly, it kinda sputters then starts. I have NGK iridium plugs, 2 step colder that I just put in yesterday.

Also, when I gave it a little gas on one of the tunes it backfired on me.

Finally, my AEM AFR gauge is reading off the wall, like 17-18 at idle which I know it shouldn't be.

I'm trying to see do you think that is the tune or something else? I don't have any oil leaks or anything like that.

My boost and oil pressure gauge work fine.

Lastly I have no CEL. I had one, I checked it with my scan gauge and it was an evap code, tightened the gas cap, reset the light, started the car more than a few times, and it did not return.

I was trying to see if you could help me out and perhaps send me a few tunes to try?

Do you think I should disconnect the FIC and connect back to the stock ECU directly just to start it and idle it to see if the stuttering starting problem remains? That would let me know if it is the FIC fuel map o something else causing the issue.

I ran the PC Logger last time. I can email the log file to anyone willing to help me out, thanks.

I've managed to fix it some. It still sputters when starting and the idle is rich in the 1000 rpm range.

Once the idle drops to 700-800 the AFR is 15 - 16

When cruising it goes to 14 - 15

Where boost would kick in a little lower than 14 - 15

So i'm trying to fix the sputtering when starting and rich idle around 1000 rpm then I can try it out on the road.

All my testing was at idle, on jacks and jack stands, just revving the engine in neutral.

So not on full load.

Im not 100% sure..

but i think the fic does take a few min to learn fuel trims still..

Im probably wrong...

i would for sure make sure there are no vacume or boost leaks!

Is there an appropriate way to check for either?

Boost gauge differs slightly when I give it gas in neutral but I know it won't do much unless it is under load.

Boost leak at the throttle body, clamp coupler was not tight.

Slight leak at the BOV, HKS BOV is missing th o-ring that goes in before the clamp.

When getting ready to hit boost at WOT AFR drops to 11-13.

Idle is much smoother, starting is still a little rough.

No more stalling and dying.

boost afrs should be in the 11's! not anything higher!

did you use the boost leak tester?

Its crazy how many leaks you will find! soap and water and load about 15 psi in there..

very inportant in a pull through maf system!

AWESOME!! Thanks for telling me that!

I checked with soap and water today, that's how I found those 2.

Approaching boost now, the AFR's are in the 10's and don't exceed 11.

CarbonXE........he slightly tweaked it before sending it to me. Had I used it in its original form when he first sent it I would have never had any problems.

I run a turbonetics kit on my 2007 and this is my dyno table with about 150 miles on no boost driving. She fired right up when install and calibration of FIC was completed with no idle/drivability issues. The boost leaks you spoke of were probably the culprit. This tune came supplied from turbokits.com. I have a magnaflow cat back also but otherwise just the turbokit. Hope this helps with what you are trying to achieve.
