Default Help Removing Driver Axle!

I'm posting here cuz this is where all the real car workers read and post.

I need to remove my driver axle on my 05 tC so I can pull the motor. The manual calls for SST 09520–01010, 09520–24010 (09520–32040) I do not have this and need to get this out this weekend. What can I use to pry this out?

Please no questions about selling the motor yet I will post about it as soon as it's ready to be sold.

ur pulling the motor and u dunno how to take the axle out??

take pad's and rotors off unbolt the axle.. unbolt the strut kinda pull hub assemly toward u while tapping the axle back inwards untill u got the axle spline out of the hub assembly then take a pry bar were the axle goes into the tranny and pry it backwards...... easyest way i can describe it

LOL I know how to take it off I was just looking for something else to take it off with instead of this tool that Toyota says to use.

BTW, you don't need to take off the pads and rotor. Just unbolt the two bolts thats tied to the struts and pull forward being sure to also unbolt the brake line and speed sensor with the 12mm socket. This is not my first rodeo.lol Check my past post. I tore into this car and put it back together and everything in between .LOL

Thanks for the post though it will help some in need later.

Boy I missed SL.

I pull the two lower bolts out of the strut, and the one bolt that holds the brake line and abs cable to the strut, pull the strut off the spindle and roll the spindle out till it clears the strut. Knock the axle loose from the splines in the hub, roll the spindle down and pull the axle out of the spindle. Then work go to work prying and tapping the axle out of the tranny. It will take some work, there is a wire clip on the inner end of the axle that clips into the transmission.

LOL I'm good guys. Just trying to get this built motor out and sell it. I have the 08 tc pretty MACed out and a wedding and baby on the way so I need this motor gone and 05 back to stock and sold.

I bought a few tools to try and pull the axle out of tranny but the thing won't come out I'm gonna try and remove the whole strut. Thanks!

I use a long pry bar. I removed two yesterday and they came out like that. You got to be a little rough with it though.

Did you guys put it on the little notches or stick it where the tranny and axle meet? I was sticking it in the little notches.

x2. Get a pry bar in there and then tap the end of the pry bar with hammer and it should pop out.

It has a similar effect to using the tool described in the manual (a jolt to pull it out of the from the tranny).

Need another stage 5? Really I got one that has less then 100miles on it and as soon as I pull this axle and motor I'll have the clutch ready for sale. It's a comp clutch stage 5 I believe it was sprung. Let me know if interested and how fast you need it.

Thanks for the info guys I think we will try some time after work this week.
