help! slim FANS
you might wanna check your oil temp first and see if you really need it, you might just be running too cold oil for it flow efficiently.. and I imagine on winter it would be worst.. down here we have really hot summer and only short winters and temp rarely goes below 40F so running oil cooler all year is not much of a problem..
well, i'm not concerned about the car being too cold, i'm concerned about my coolant temperatures, so i'm trying to get all the cooling i can get. i'll be fine for the winter, but the spring and summer will push the limits of the cooling system if the koyo radiator and shroud aren't enough.
as long as your coolant system is effective you shouldnt worry much of the oil cooler. Your watercooled turbo is the one giving you some extra heat but your cooling upgrade should take care of it.. a small oil cooler should do the job if it gets too cold in winter just use some lower viscosity motor oil..

I'm running ^^^ that fan shroud assembly and my temps constantly stay at 186 degrees according to my scangauge when cruising or WOT and at idle it stays at 190 degrees. Using the dash needle as a reference, it is lower than it used to be with the new shroud.
Mine has hit 232F before. Only momentarily.
When ambient temps are above 95F my WT stays above 182F cruising. It'll go from 186F-204F at idle.
Now that temps here in Houston have calmed down, (below 90F ambient) it'll stay 175F-179F when cruising. At idle, it'll go to 202F, the fans will kick on, and it'll float between 186F and 202F until I get rolling again.

The hottest I've seen mine at is 202, and that was after an AutoX run, pulling back into line. Dropped right back down to the usual 191-195 right after that.
well, i emailed mishamoto and they replied:
so that sounds like a good amount of cooling for those fans.
Hi Christian,
There are 2 12” fans, 120W, pulling around 1200CFM per fan.
Thanks,
