[quote="SCIONtific_tC"][quote="ack154"]I love how there are all of these threads about the supercharger dying or having problems, and people talking bad about them since they were discontinued...

Then there's always this:

I have a trd filter, nst 9.5 pulley, and forge splitter.
well when i first got the s/c i already had problems with the car stalling and it had no mods on it and it was still making these weird noises just not as bad.

If you're out of warranty then your out. Simple as that. Take off the charger and run N/A! :D

If the dealer already voided your warranty, you're already done. Try Method 4 in San Jose / Santa Clara - Ask for Sam, the owner.

For more expensive work, there's Blacktraxx (spelling?) somewhere in the east bay. You might also ask equinox2355 where he got his SC tuned

You might also ask Dave Gille at Stevens Creek Toyota Service Dept. I dunno how much longer Stevens creek toyota will be open though. Everybody is hurting.

You could also of course DIY and disassemble it your self.

haha it's sitting at the dealer right now awaiting service warranty approval. figure out that the bearings on the pulley side were shot which led to the pulley grinding and putting metal shavings all over my engine bay. looks like i can't use this pulley anymore.

might be cheaper to get the new rebuilt shaft, it comes with higher speed rated bearings also.

Doesn't have anything to do with it really, plenty of stock ones go bad. Its not made right in the first place. The bearings are not even rated for 7psi, 9.5psi might make it die quicker, but i bet they will all die sooner or later. Even with upgraded bearings a person who drives really hard will get 2 years max before they need to change out shaft bearings again. Unless someone can make an oil filled chamber for the pulley bearings.
