never boost on a budget, with that said i would go for a used kit. pending on your location, i've seen great priced ones. it's like buying a built car, they never get what they put in, so you get the deal.

JEEPMAN from reading your post you searching with wrong terms or phrases.
-You also need a realistic goal of how much HP and TQ you want to achieve
-Also remember the supporting mods Clutch,Flywheel,Exhaust,Gauges, spare motor for when stuff goes bad
-Also a cheaper kit is never good even the outdated products are still costly
-Type in custom turbo kit in the search bar
-The term home-made kit doesn't exist in the automotive world

Like Esem said you would do good with a used kit either P-Tuning,Dezod, or Descendant.

Don't take this the wrong way but learning the ins and outs of forced induction on the fly is a bad idea. You should know/learn all the basics of forced induction and all the parts needed to complete a turbo system before touching your engine.

Check the sticky threads because there is plenty of information in them.

Don't forget to buy turbo feed and return lines, colder spark plugs, RTV gasket paste to put back on the oil pan use (The right stuff) at any auto zone works great.

+ Down pipe ,most of the kit revolves around what turbo you buy then the manifold and down pipe you use is determined buy that.
so when you know what power you want to make chose the turbo and start from there.
my advise is this turbo http://usedturbos.net/Catalog/450-60...olt-565HP.html

when i got it looked new when i got it polished cold side very sexy they did an awesome job on the rebuild had it on for 3 mouths (3000miles) at 5psi works like a dream dont go with ebay shizle i bought a kit from there all that remains from that kit is the inter cooler and piping save your self $400 and do it properly first time.

Well, if you are very proficient in building such a thing, it can be done, but in all honesty, 90% of the time, it's cheaper and easier to purchase a kit because you have brand new parts with warranty and all of the R&D is done for you.

Here is our entry level bolt on kit:

Here is our DIY kit, where we provide the mani, downpipe, turbo, wastegate and oil lines for you and you do the rest:
