Default Homemade nitrous intercooler spray questions

Before the famous "research" post is posted I've tried doing some research on this but couldn't find a halfway decent DIY .

Been considering a c02 intercooler spray for awhile but have heard that c02 sucked into the intake can bog down the engine and cause a loss of horsepower. Well why not just use nitrous, its colder and if sucked into the intake would just be a lil extra boost right haha.

I've tried doing some research on this but couldn't find a halfway decent DIY.

I'm wondering if I need special solenoids or if ones from a nitrous kit will do.
I plan on being able to activate this at a flip of a switch.
Will I need one to fill the lines and one to spray it or could I just have a single solenoid on the bottle and be good?

Another question I had was would I need to purge it? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't because I don't care if a little air is in the lines and sprays out with the nitrous but I just want to be sure.

Also I know that I need some high pressure lines but anyone know what size lines would be best?

I heard that chrome copper pipe with holes in it can be used as the "sprayer" and then just bent but again does anybody know a good size for the pipe or holes?

I think that's all the questions I have and I guess I'll just guess anything that isn't answered.

I'll be sure to make a DIY for this

I am pretty sure the solenoids used for nitrious kit will good. The single solenoid on the bottle is ok since your only working on an intercooler sprayer, and not a nitrous injection.

If I were you I would check out a brand name CO2 intercooler kit, and look up the details and specs. Might have to check a few websites, because I don't think all of them specify the exact specs.

Good luck with your build. It shouldn't be too bad.

Nitrous cooling is great but why most people don't understand is that most of te power made from it is actually because as you spray the nitrous fog gets sucked into the engine through the turbo inlet studies have shown this, now that's going to require some tuning, but if u wanna spray it before doing a pull that's fine

Where is your intake located that it would be effected by a co2 spray?
Would relocating it work to solve the co2 into the intake issue?
(co2 is less expensive to refill then nitrous is)

What is the vehicular application for the mist: drag or track?

^haven't heard that before but it makes perfect sense. do you think it would be fine spraying it as long as im not at wide open throttle?

my intake is pretty much where the stock one is but im boosted (obviously)
not really sure where else i could relocate it that would hide it from the co2 unless i fabbed a heat/co2 shield lol
and I want to use it before a launch or before a pull

If you put in a full length CAI you would relocate the intake mouth to the front drivers side of the car right behind the bumper. This might relocate it far enough back to keep the CO2 from interfearing.

Before a pull, run a cycle on it to cool the unit but don't start right away.
If you are doing a launch, spray once the vehicle has launched, that way you aren't risking suffocating the engine; the CO2 will cool but also pass through the engine bay.
