Default How can I Test my Plug N Play Harness??

Ok, Here is the situation. I bought a used PNP harness and a Greddy Ultimate Emanage for my 09 scion tc used. The harness itself has a spliced wire hanging not connected to anything, then there are a few other wires taped to each other. I just want to know if i could plug in the emanage to my car and test to see if the harness works. The emanage does have a map loaded on to it already. I just want to make sure it wont mess up anything since it is a tuned map and I currently do not have the parts installed on the car. Car is stock at the moment. Thanks.

its gonna be a lil work but you can test connectivity with a multimeter, you have to do it end to end in each wire/pin.. thats the only way I know you can easily do

Thanks ace. Im guessing that would be the safest and best route ? I couldnt just connect it to the car and test it out that way huh ?(I know its best to check every individual wire/pin , just asking).

^^ I didnt read your entire post the first time but lol, you wanna check if the spiced wires are joint back together the right way? to do that, checking connectivity wont do much, it only checks that the circuit is good.. you need to compare the stock ecu pinout diagram and trace it back to the ultimate's pins if they mate up correctly.. basically its like you're reviewing the entire harness.. I would just plug it to the car and see if it works, just dont go boosting.. Some of the pins from the ecu doesnt have to be connected to the piggyback which might explain some of the wires just hanging

Thanks alot , just to clarify again. I am stock so it would be safe to test the emanagement on my car correct ? It does have a map already tuned for my kit. I will not press the throttle in. I just simply want to see if the car turns on(and if the car does turn on does that mean the harness is in good shape ?)

The thing is its a plug and play harness for the scion tc, does that make a difference?

ok guys I finally tried to start the car with the management plugged in. The car would not start. Do you have to set the DIP switches on it a certain way ?

Dip switches should be off. Did this ultimate come off a turbo car. If the injectors are not setupproperly the car will not start.

all the dip switches are turned on. This did come off a turbo car it has a map already on it with the turbonetics kit set at 7.5. The thing is I have the full turbonetics kit. Only thing is I have upgraded the turbo to a 57 trim and the injectors to 700cc plug n plug. The map that is on the Emanagement is tuned for the stock turbonetics kit with the 630cc injectors. Other then those 2 upgrades i have the full turbonetics kit.

You can try this, go into the software and set the injectors to 0 for both. See if it starts then. Will idle really rough but see if it actually starts. Might take a couple of cranks. PTuning helped me with this not to long ago.

ok i will try that , can I connect the management to my pc without having it connected to the car right ? I currently do not have a laptop with me. Also where in the software would i navigate to set the injectors to 0 , also would have still have to turn off the dip switches.

you need to connect it to the car or else it wont power on.. but you said you were stock for now right? i would just unload the map on the ultimate and try to start it but do the injector thing like rhythm said.. i think its somewhere where its say parameters if i remember it right

ok guys I got the emanagement to turn on , Basically there was a red wire , and there was a green. Both were spliced hanging there. The green wire was labeled power . So i connected them together and it turned on and idled perfectly with the dip switches on. One question - Do the dip switches have to be on or off ?

The dip switches have nothing to do with the running of the car. They are features that can be tied to things like switching to alternate map. Just turn them off. The Ultimate has a bigger learning curve than the blue. Highly reccommend you read the user manual. Thats how I found out it had two-step launch control.
