Default how much power can u run with stock midpipe

ok now before all you start bashing im asking because i want to go back to stock midpipe to quite it down and so i dont smell the smell of uncatted exhaust

anyways with a 2.5 inch straight pipe at 10psi i made 280

my question is if i run like 14 psi do you think i can see 300 on stock midpipe?

and will it have any ill effect on my egts

lol sorry this has to be one of the dumbest questions out there. 1st off you dont want to smell the uncatted exhaust anymore? Our cat is located in the header section of the exhaust, therefore you would have to replace the Dp with a catted one, not the midpipe. 2nd off, why would you put more stress on your engine that isnt needed?

we do not have a cat in the midpipe! its a resonator type if i'm not mistaken thats why we have the second o2 after the cat in the header.

so if ptuning tells your your a woman not a man would you believe them? you can ask ptuning yourself if having 400whp is not stressful on the
car?

and yet another person he doesnt know what hes talking about...

we have 2 cats and 1 resonator... the second o2 is infront of second cat because if it was behind 2 cats then u would get incorrect readings..

I ran 14 psi on the stock midpipe for like a month. Whe i finished my setup with built motor, i didnt have exhaust in place yet and dumping after the spipe was so effing loud, i just put the stock midpipe on but cut it off towards the end of it. It quieted it down alot and didnt really ahve any negative affects. However after i took it off - i noticed it blew everything clean out of that cat lol you could see right through

I say do it....Only ill effects would be the increased back pressure. Still can hit 300hp with the boost upped and a tune.

300 is very possible.. cons will be reduced potential gain, high EGTs bad for motor and manifold.. a high flow cat on a cheap 2.5 exhaust will be a good option, if have an open dump then I say recirc it first at it would give you most of the fumes when it opens

your right, what do I know, bottle necking the exhaust is a great idea, and you have people on this thread that have much higher hp tc's and much more experience with the car than you (myself included) telling you its a bad idea, yet your still fighting about it. Just do it. More boost=decreased engine life, esp on 14 lbs.

you could always put an electronic cut out in the exhaust before the 2nd cat. that is another idea for you to kick around. and the argument in this thread needs to chill. i have a friend pushing 14psi on a stock mid pipe and he's making 380whp with meth and a 3076
