Default im about to buy a 07 tc supercharged, if i raise boost.....

i know the trd supercharger puts out 7psi boost...and i've found a few aftermarket pullys to raise the boost to 9.5......if i buy the pully before they install the supercharger, will they install the 9.5 pully? and would it still be covered in my warrenty?

theres a zillion threads with supercharger warranty(search keyword)

+ depends on the dealer because you will need to use a different belt

and would it still be covered in my warrenty?
+ if done by the book, installing it out of the box. TRD provides a tamper proof cap that covers the pulley bolt, tampering will void your warranty as stated by leaflets that came inside the box.

I agree, make sure you're not getting an '06.

The fact that TRD's website and representatives say that the release date will be later this year really tells you something. TRD is never on schedule, let alone ahead of schedule.

In any case, post pics of the S/C when you get it.

either your getting an 06, or they will say oops when they get the car to install it because salesman are idiots when it comes to options. they just try and make a quick sale.

there is no S/C available for the 07 ~ Yet , lol. hope for 2 more years, haha. good luck

well i hope it wasnt a mistake. the dealer said they ran out of '06's back in june and the dealer did tell me: the trd s.c. came out for the '07 but didnt pass in ca. because of emissions...and then later on was passed in ca.

i tried to call my dealer to get reassurence...and if the dealer mislead/misinformed me then i will get my deposit back and go to 1 of the other 9 dealership's.

either way i will still get the '07 it would then be a matter of who get's the sale

hatchin....it's not a big secret that only the dealer knows....just call the TRD 800 number and ask them directly and they will tell you.

also Scion does not allow the supercharger to be purchased at the same time as the car and be financed with it.

you have to buy the car and then go back separetly with the money some other way, like throught the bank or whatever. you cannot finance it through toyota/scion.

I've been wrangling with the TRD Supercharger for some time now... Before plinking down your hard earned cash on one, there's a few things you ought to know.

First off - TRD's design is horrible. More often than not, manual kits for the SC break the supercharger mounting bracket (there's a long thread about it). Some people experience blown seals (I haven't had this happen though, but I did have a bracket break).

Adding boost via pulleys automatically voids your warranty.

Adding headers automatically voids your warranty (and to boot, kills your torque because the TRD reflash expects a certain level of backpressure to be there).

The ONLY ONLY ONLY ONLY time one should buy the TRD supercharger is if:

1. You want the 200 ponies, and understand that they will HAVE to watch their Supercharger mounting brackets, and keep it at stock boost for warranty issues, or:

2. You like the low-end torque you get without having to wait for a turbo to spool, and still plan on modding the hell out of it (me).

While I don't "regret" going with the TRD supercharger, I seriously wish it would get a redesign to get rid of the bracket and seals issues.

The turbo kits around SL have had a lot of experience surrounding them. We're all still learning about what you can do (and more importantly, what you CAN'T do) with the TRD supercharger. But the first thing experience tells me about the TRD supercharger is that it has an inherently flawed design because of several alignment issues.
