Default Issues with car idle at start

So car has been running decent past months and all of a sudden on thanksgiving I go to leave the uncles house and car wont start. I figured it had to be something with the starter. So the next day i go back clean all the connections and make sure everything was good near and around the starter area. Go to start and still nothing. So im tinkering and come to find out there is a bundle of wires that runs from main harness one connects to the starter it self and the other three run down to the transmission. Now I got the pops to push the wire away from the connections to see if it would start and it did start so I checked all those wires for broken melted etc etc. everything is good but now the car starts and the idle is at 3K rpm constantly it will not lower even after 2 to 3 mins. At one point i moved the wire around again and the rpms started running higher and higher till i finally had to run and turn the car off.....

Any ideas as to what this could be....possible wire short somewhere else maybe?

Also i am boosted if that helps out any lol.

Maybe an ECU issue? A short could send a faulty signal to your computer?
