Default Just got back from the track

So this weekend was the "show of Champions" in Maryland at Capitol Raceway...

on 9psi and all season shiiit tires, my best time was 14.566@100.2.

from the trap speed im guessing with good tires i should be high 13's....

it was fun tho

my 60' was 2.45 consistently...so i was consistently spinning the tires at launch

the stg 4 clutch grabs reallly quickly so i couldnt slip it out..im gunna have to practice....so with drag radials, and feathering the clutch im guessing a 13.6ish woulda been possible...whaddya think?

trap makes sense based on his numbers, 2.0T gtis with stage 2 make around 240whp 280 wtq trap 100-103, but usually hit 13.5-14.2

hard to launch isn't it......keep trying you will get it,you will learn to hate the smell of the clutch burning too........but it is kinda part of launching it.

I ran a 14.65 today at 99mph It was 98* air temp and like 110 on the track Im in Oklahoma btw and we have the ____tiest track in the world FYI Im running 8 psi on my auto and falken azenis tires - they hold pretty well - still will spin a lil if i build boost at launch s o i have to control how i launch it, but other than that they stick pretty damn well for street tires Now if the damn temp would just go down

wow man you were in my back yard.naw really man i live 10min. from that track. that track suuucks! its really hard to launch there the dont prep the track right! the skimmp on the vht and try to make you pull throught the water(not good for street tires) and god forbid some one breaks. it takes 30mins to clean up the small spills and 60+ min. for big spills no s#!t i sat in the stagging lanes for 2 hours just too make a pass. but if you where at MIR you would pick up a 1/2send. MIR is a much better track. my times at crapital raceway are 14.78 @ 97.2mph and 60ft of 2.46 and at mir i ran a 14.23 @ 99.8mph with a 60ft of 2.18 on streets tires all times.

It all depends on the turbo and the setup.

Work on that 60 foot time for sure. With a 2.4, there is definite room for improvement. Cut that down to a 2.2 or a 2.0 and you will see some better times for sure.

No, it's realistic. I don't feel like whipping out all the equations and crap for CFM's, but his dyno number is within 5% of what he's actually making. All those dyno's of people making 250 on 5PSI or 340 on 9PSI are way off.

Those are some rather low trap speeds I would think. You guys are forgetting the fact that the MORE you spin off the line, your trap speed will actually be HIGHER. Back when I was on 9lbs I trapped at 108-109mph. A 100 trap for a tC on 9lbs of boost I consider to be low don't care what turbo it is. I was on a 16g turbo (ZPI stage 1), which is about the size of an apple.
