There would be more loss to the wheels on a RWD, so the 2.4 would put down the power worse. Handling would be better and launching would be better, but I would seriously want to upgrade power if it were on a rwd platform. The big push for FWD was to allow lower powered engines to propel the car efficiently.

I'm assuming if they RWD and drift, their gonna boost it as well.

it likely wont be the same 2.4l engine. my guess is it will be a lexus engine since they have a few RWD cars.

Eligible Vehicles:

Coupe, sedan, or wagon of no more than 5 doors is allowed to compete.
Cars must have come from the factory with either RWD or AWD drive train.
Must be a production car with a minimum build run of 2,500 units.
Must maintain original OEM unibody or frame structure between front and rear suspension mounting points.
Vehicles that do not meet the above criteria must petition for approval by the Formula Drift.
