Default Leaking Compressor Housing

I need to take my car back to the tuner and I thought I would do another boost leak test. I've run into a leaky housing and everything is as tight as I want to go. Is copper sealant a possible idea for the housing?

a very light and i mean light coat of rtv will seal it up where the backplate meets the cover or spring for a rebuild kit that has the rubber gasket. either should work.

Thanks for the reply. It's a brand new turbo I've had it for a month. Is it possible to take the housing off when it's still on the car(6 bolts). Sorry for the newb question, but I don't want to pull the whole works out again to fix this...thanks again

couple of bolts will be a pain to get to but once you break them all loose you can clock it to get the hard to reach ones all the way out. I would mark the position of the housing so you can slap it back on without having to clock it much.

alot of garrett turbo's iv dealt with leaked from the housing and iv seen turbonetics turbos leak as well...even new ones, my new garrett i would be willing to bet it leaks.

Excellent idea...It must be many t3/4 turbos that have this problem. BTW you guessed it on the button mine is a turbonetics. I also used your diy on the boost leak test. Thanks again

also while you have your comp housing off take a look at the one bolt hole closest to the turbo outlet and see if its drilled all the way through, if so you may want to use a little teflon tape on the bolt or thread sealer if you like.
