Default lightweight pulleys with turbo?

Have any of u guys tried lighweight pulleys with a turbo kit I've heard from people not to do it that its bad and from some to do it what's ur guys opinion on that?

i have a lightened crank pully with my turbo kit, works fine i dont see any harm with it

i ran a pulley with an untunned turbo for half a year and still running

nothing wrong with them. i've been using a zpi crank pulley for years now.

i think you mis understood though, do not use an underdrive pulley with a supercharger as it would make the supercharger create less boost.

but they work fine.

NST here, have about 40k miles running the 3 piece set NA and 1k boosted 2 1/2 years all together

in theory the nst 3 piece set is going to get rid of more weight, cuz ur exchanging 3 heavy pieces instead of just one (crank only with most companies)

thinkin about doin this when i do the turbo install.

would a throttlebody spacer help me in anyway with a turbo kit? just because its a lightened pulley kit and the spacer for $100. reguardless ill prolly put lightened pulleys on when i throw the turbo in.

mine as well do it all at once

Before i went F/I I wasnt sure if I should keep my pulley on due to all the arguments arguing both sides whether or not it is safe. Couldnt find my stock pulley so decided to just run the kit with the AP Lightweight Crank Pulley on and it seems to be running just fine. There are many others that have this set up too and for much longer than I have and report no problems. The only argument is something to do with the harmonic balancer etc etc... not going to go into it but we will see how this plays out

Pulleys do not effect turbo performance at all, they maintain the same gains that they would on a N/A application.

NST provides lightweight and under drive pulleys, as well as light weight water pump and alternator pulleys. I'll be installing these on my car this Sunday.

No throttle body spacer on forced induction... You want the air to travel the shortest path. Besides the stock intake manifold basically has a spacer built into it, which is one of he main reasons the 2az whistles in vac.

Throttle body spacers do nothing. I have yet to see any proven gains with a throttle body spacer.

Pulleys, however, actually make a difference. I have been turboed for almost a year now and have been running the NST 3 pulley set for nearly as long. They work great and I have seen no ill effects.

Whoever told you they are bad for the tC doesn't know what they are talking about.
