Default low air/fuel ratio...help please

hey everyone I have the TRD Supercharger, with the zpi 9 psi pulley and bosch 110 bpv and i went to dyno it and got 183, with 8.8 pounds of boost and my air fuel is running below 10. I have the reflash done and when i took it back to toyota they took it for a spin and said it was fine, yet it feels slow, and runs slow, cuz i did the dyno the next day after they said it ran perfect. Anyone ever have a problem with this or know any possible solutions. Everything is sealed, no leaks 100% sure cuz we took it apart for the 3rd time to check. Some how the car is running rich and not getting the volume of air. maybe i need a new reflash, but toyota said it was done right. those techs are crappy.

I wouldnt say that the techs are crappy, but that is the map that they were supplied and they arnt going to do true performance work to your car. The dealership is not an aftermarket performance shop, they only install parts and make them work correctly. The map your computer was flashed with is a super conseritive tune, if you want to push your warantee and buy a piggyback computer then do so.

but i mean, why am i gettin those numbers. others on here are pullin 195whp with the stock pulley and 217whp with the zpi pulley. I just dont see why I am running so bad.

Weather, tempature, density of air. All play factors in making power. Go to the dyno on several different days where the DA is different, you will make different power.

a loss of 35whp though. Come on, there is something missing here. The gears drag, and the air fuel drops and makes the car run way to rich. ZPI told me i should be around 11 and i am below 10 around .98. Is there such thing as a bad reflash?

What numbers did you get?
What type of dyno, Dynojets tend to read the highest...

I mean i cant tell you what your car is going to make but, what if you dynoed on crap gas or maybe your car was knocking bad and your motor retarted all of the timing. How many pulls did you make on the dyno? Are the numbers you list an average? You already know your air fuel ratio is crap, so your going to hurt for power due to a/f ratios in the 9's.

It wasnt a dyno jet. As far as the numbers, yea they are consistent, from what alot of people have posted on this site and others and seeing their dyno charts and their vids at the dyno. I'm running premium, and have been the whole time. 93 octane to be exact over here on the east coast. I went twice to the dyno. 3 pulls each time. First time i made 183.5whp and the second time i went it was 178whp and it was consistent. My torque was 152. Thats below a stock tC. i feel embarrassed to have a supercharger with crap for power. I reset the ecu like 5 times. this is frustrating me.

You cant reset the ecu after each pull and expect it to make good numbers, it takes some time driving to relearn all its parameters, and if your so upset with your numbers why dont you go buy a afm scaling device? I mean i cant tell you what your supposed to have, i havent even seen a supercharged tc come through my dealership yet. The one guy at my dealership that has a tc has the zpi turbo kit and a snow performance water injection kit and i know what it does on the street. Dyno time for him should be comming up this next week.

thanks for your time and input. I've had this problem for about a week and me and my friends have basically ripped the supercharger out and reinstalled it again just to see if there were any problems. I knew there was a problem, because when i first got the supercharger instaleld i was running w/o the reflash and i was hauling some butt. i mean it was pretty damn fast. then it slowly decreased power andthen when i got the reflash it jsut has been the same. Kenny at ZPI was saying the engine isnt geting the volume of air even though it is producing all its boost and the car is compensating by adding fuel and running rich. So i guess i will just have to be patient and see if this problem occurs elsewhere or just get an emange and dyno tune it.

You probably ruined your engine by driving w/out the reflash.

So you probably had it dyno'd on a mustang dyno. Those dyno's show lower numbers than a dynojet. If you went on a dynojet you'd have higher numbers. Your A/F is what is killing your power though.

Oh and you comment about your SC torque being below stock..well I havent seen a stock TC put out 152 ft/lbs of tq on a dyno...its only rated at 160 at the wheels...

stock tC's i believe are 139-142whp and 151-153wtq.

Maybe i do need to try a different dyno. Thanks for the feedback

you should have done a baseline when your car was stock on the dyno you used, that way you would have seen the true difference.
