So, I had the thought that a few of us had individual thread builds scattered around. And if you weren't a veteran of SL then you wouldn't most likely know that we were all apart of the same crew/club. MCS (Music City Scions) has been around for a few years now, originally started out as a chapter of Scikotics. We broke away and formed MCS and we have a great group of individuals in our club. A select few of us frequent the race track on a monthly and sometimes weekly basis with our Scions. Consisting mostly of AutoX and Road Race/HPDE/Time Attack. We have been picking up steam as of late in terms of wrapping up some F/I builds that have been in the works for a very long time. This is a thread to kinda showcase our differences in our builds. Each of our builds couldn't be any more different from one another, yet we find a commonality and comradeship among each other that no matter the setup, the vision, we always strive to get the most out of it. I believe in our crew we have had essentially 4 different brand turbo setups between our members.

Here are the F/I builders and crew up close and personal

Brian (J3st3r)
-Custom setup
-GTK550 turbo
-Built motor
-400whp (current projected goal)

Brian is the face of MCS and runs the MCS website/forum. Great organizer and great thanks goes to him for having the contacts to get us were we are today. He was on the Scion Exposed panel last year, and this year his wife is on the SE panel to help put together a fresh new event. Here is Brian's tC as is currently:

Kevin (Slikk)
-PTuning SS kit
-GT3076R
-Stock Motor
-311whp/285wtq @ 8.8lbs (PTuning Dyno)

Kevin is an avid AutoX'er. He AutoX's like its a religion. We have AutoX here nearly every weekend. He recently took the journey up from TN to VA to the PTuning grounds to get the SS kit dropped in and tuned. And she runs REALLY nice. He's also running a CM Twin Disc clutch with his setup. If you ever want to hear a Jamaican talk...just listen to one of his conversations with his family... Here is Slikk's most recent pics.

Nick (BlackKnight)
-Custom Twin Scroll setup
-GT3582R Turbo
-2.6L BC Stroker Kit
-4xxwhp (street), I think a dyno of 600whp for bragging rights.

Nick is my boy that's been overseas for a few years now. He pretty much sends a check over to the shop building his project tC. He practically has enough spare parts to build another tC...lol. He's overseas under civilian contract (I believe that's what it's called). His tC probably has the most money into it, everything from a fully polished transmission with REM treatment on the internals, stroker kit on the motor...etc. Just way to many parts to list, including stock parts he purchased for spares. He jumps on the web each time he's able to get some free time, to say Hi. Great guy and friend. I learned to remove the tC's transmission from this guy. Here is Nicks car:

Travis (RhythmnSmoke)...ME
-PTuning RS setup
-GT3076R w/Tial SS housing
-Stock Motor
-350whp (current goal)

So, I've been among this forum for some time now. I'm the second senior most member of MCS. Brian and I got together when he moved here to TN, and started banning a group of guys/gals together and formed the Nashville Scikotics chapter. Then as mentioned, morphed into MCS. I love my tC and probably will never get rid of it. I'm constantly thinking of new things to do to it. I recently just got my PTuning RS setup delivered to me, and I absolutely love it. I don't know if I want to install the setup or hang it on the wall...lol. It's very stout that's for sure. You can see the quality in the build and creation of the manifold that's for sure. RS kits are built on a per order basis, so when you order that's when they build it. I love the track so much that even if I'm not driving, I still go and volunteer at the track to help others get their track time in. It's a great experience and I track this car on a monthly basis. I've been tracking for the last 2 years just about, in N/A form. Now it's time to return to boost. Here is my tC as it sits currently:

Nick (BamaTC0
-PTuning SS kit
-Garret T3/04E 57trim .82 A/R
-Stock Motor
-350whp/353wtq @ 13lbs (Mustang Dyno)

Nick (the other Nick..lol), is one of our semi-remote members. He's actually located in Alabama. When he gets a chance, he drives up from Bama to meet up with the club. He went pretty aggressive with the boost/tune and pumped out a nice 350whp/353wtq on Lethal Injections Mustang Dyno. He was the first in the crew to drop in a PTuning setup. Pretty sick setup.

Evan (elemons)
-Turbonetics Turbo kit
-Stock Motor
-308whp @ 10lbs

Evan is one of our newest members. Unique guy, likes to do a lot of photography and has a crap ton of pics of models and cars on his FB page. Keeps bugging me to do a shoot with my tC but I keep telling him it's not ready...lol. He recently had his tC dyno tuned up on a local dyno here. He's another individual that does a lot of Charity organization and fundraising stuff. I sold him my seats recently to add to his growing tC's parts list. That helped me put some $ in my turbo fund. Here is Evan's car currently:

Well, that's it of our boosted setups thus far. We constantly strive forward and continue to help one another build and install new parts. Stay tuned for some videos as a few of us are getting ready for July 17th. Import Alliance!

Thank you for Reading...

Dang, I wish I had some people around me that were into scions. I only get to talk scions to the guy I met at the toyota parts counter, Haha... Then again he did score me a brand spanking new 2az short block for $300... Wish I had some close scion friends to share my deals with....

Yeah it's great to have a group of friends willing to help you pull your transmission out, or motor, coilovers...etc. Everyone brings a specific skill set to the table which makes it all worth having a crew. We have been twirling around a sorta "race team" kinda idea with a few of us that do frequent the track a lot, with getting Team shirts and stuff made. Seeking companies presently to do up the shirts.

Well...its a LONG story...but will see if I can try...well initially found out the hard way that the 500whp motor had not been assembled correctly...and well....it failed. Got everything rebuilt, after that...car ran great...broke the motor in, and then took it to the track on 5psi, before turning up the boost...while at the track...this happened:

After that was fixed, it was time to turn up the boost, everything was good....car was RIDICULOUSLY fast...and then there was some kind of ECU glitch...or something, we still do not have a real good handle on what happened....but this was the result:

So...long story short, new motor, new ecu, and a bunch of other new parts, to start 2011 off with. Hopefully I will actually be driving it for more than 2 months this year. But hey dont want to sidetrack this thread to far, as I think what Travis has put together his is pretty damn cool!!
Really just want to be able to kick it with the crew at the track this year and not be the designated picture/video man

^^Hence why Brian's tC has been nicknamed "The Unicorn". The Mythological creature that we have all heard about, but never seen in real life.

I've had the pleasure of seeing it in the wild along side my steed, but the two have been apart for some time. Time to bring the OG's back together for some track dominations!

On top of that, when you are actually doing the racing on an HPDE/Time Attack day you have little to know time to do photos and video unless it's a GoPro/GoPro style cam being mounted to your ride. Other than that, you just don't want to be snapping pics of everyone else and also racing when it's time for you to race. Just way to much of a hassle.

As in CA? HA...I think I'll pass. My two story, tow bedroom town home would probably cost me like $2000 a month or something, rather than $800
