my issues with detonation at 6psi...help
well i got 440 injectors and my safc was able to lay down a 12.0 afr on 6psi, but i am getting detonation(yes i hear it) right when full boost comes and every time i shift to the next gear it sounds like rice crispies going off or even rocks hitting under carrage but i know its knock/det
im leaning more towards it being caused by high egts and my afr is decent its 12.0
my setup
to4e 57trim .63 a/r
treadstone manifold
38mm wastegate
2.5 inch downpipe
2.5 inch spipe
stock midpip
ebay muffler
my thought is that maybe the stock midpipe and ebay axel back are caused too much restriction thus increasing EGT's
tomorrow i will see if i can get around to removing the exhaust and running open spipe
maybe this will help then again it will prob make me run leaner =[

lol dont worry i know how to tune thats not my prob my problem is the high egts and me maxing out my safc....i need a aem fic ASAP
i took off the exhaust and i instantly noticed a huge difference in 4.8psi
right now 4.8 psi feels like 6psi
and my afr is like 11.5 on 440s with no adjustments

Alot of people who are not pulling timing at 7psi are no running 7psi, there sweeping through it.
so there running 9 and since passin 7 so quick its ok.
On a car running 7 psi you probably need 1-2 degrees pulled

oh so they are like pulling timming when they hit 9psi and not on 7 since its so fast that egts dont really effect that...hmmm interesting...
i wonder how deatch by tc managed to get 12psi outta his safc....prob had large injectors and return fuel so he can keep things uber rich/cool

haha yea i know what ya mean, i used to run no IC on my other turbos but decided that if for somereason a fin on my turbo breaks off it rather it land in my endtank and not my intake manifold LOL, and also dont like the thought of heat soak

I was gonna say you may have been seeing excessively high egt's due to no IC and restrictive exhaust. But no dice.

running a blowthru, its in a piece of 2.5 inch exhaust pipe and i havent thrown a code for that, but anyways i never tried 6psi with a draw thru, and actually with a drawthru i would have maxed my safc out at just like 4-5psi
