^^^ good point... The problem that can pop up with numbers is when you hear something like "13.99" is quick, "14.01" still has a way to go. Yes they are good for comparisons, but they can be interpreted in so many ways, i hate to see anyone use numbers as a base for what a car truly is. I'm as guilty as the next. I try to see it more as: a 14 sec car has a certain feel, same for a 12 or 10 sec car. So most won't know the diff between 14.1 & 13.9; but 14.1 & 13.1 will be noticed.
Sorry, didn't mean to ramble, and again not hitting against anyone on this. back to topic...

question on making a TC a sleeper: with the traction being a well known "issue" with this car, undoubtably you will need decent rubber to get any of that extra hp to the wheels. Are you running stock wheels/ride height with better rubber, or end up going drop with larger wheel/tire combo? If one could pump solid hp outta this thing without having to visibly change the suspension appearance, then you'd really have a sleeper on your hands.
thx

I like the TRD springs, because most average joe's (including cops) don't tend to even notice it without seeing it beside a stock one. We would notice it of course, because we look at the cars every day. And you can definitely run on good rubber without changing the appearance of the car. One would only notice if they looked close.

i like to see sleepers, they sure are surprising, but thats not my style

don't get me wrong, i'm not doggin sleepers..there sweet, to watch themsmoke some smartass off the line all the way to the end, but thats not me...im the smartass

i have an idea for a pretty decent sleeper exhaust system...take the megan exhuast, use the first 2 pieces in the kit+your stock axle-back=quiet exhaust without a cat converter....don't know if it has an HP gains, but its an idea

Same with the h-techs, last time I got pulled over, the cop commented on my car "Hmmm looks like you put rims on the car... filled the wheel wells up. Guess you did not have to lower it" *LOL* I said said "sure thing:

the h-techs drop a little lower than even the trd's, don't they? that's funny. stupid cop. but I've always said, I think the trd's make the car sit like it should have from the factory.

They drop the front a tad more. Rear is about the same. Gives it a slightly more agressive look.

that's the only complaint I have about the trd's, is that the back looks good but front isn't quite low enough. I got a good price on the trd's though.

I would have painted our FMIC black, but decided not to after seeing how beautiful it looks behind the CF lip. On a second note, despite all the CF on the front that we have, I was debating on keeping the IC hidden, to give it that I'm not boosted look.

However, the "sleeper" look becomes null and void if the area that you live in is a confined set of racers, to which you mingle with on a weekly basis. And once you lay the smack down on 1 or 2 cars, then EVERYONE knows you are boosted....LOL.

If you live in a Large city cool. If you live in fairly decent sized city where everyone knows of a car, then it's pointless.
