Need advice
I'm debating on whether or not to go back to stock or not everything seems to be messing up. First I bought a used kit, the turbo was blown so I had to drive around with a turbo with bad seals so I had a lot of oil build up. Then I put a brand new garrett on and it still smokes. It's different though like it smokes out of boost and when we were street tuning it smoke was pouring out. I did a compression test and everything checks out fine compression is perfect. Now I was trying to fix the oil problem but I was Doing a pull and my clutch burned up. So now I need to replace my clutch and try and solve this mysterious oil burning issue. Should I just replace the clutch and go back to stock I've already dumped mad money in. Who else has been in this situation? And should I give up or keep going until I get everything right. Is it worth it? My car has 110k on it. Idk what to do, any input would be helpful. Thanks.
Hang in there. Which Garrett turbo? Check your oil feed and drain on your turbo. If you need a restrictor on your feed, make sure it is the correct size. Always make sure your drain has adequate height and has a smooth flow back to the pan with correct size hose. No kinks, uphills etc. I've also seen mufflers and resonators hold quite a bit of oil after turbo seals failing. Also check your pcv system. If you have a catch can hooked up wrong, or your sending boost somewhere it shouldn't be, that could also be part of your smoke problem. Bottom line is, if you have good compression, no contaminated fluids, and you are pulling correct amount of vacuum, then it sounds like an instal problem. Hope your new turbo is still good.
thanks guys for the encouragement, and to youngflyer, Ill go down to ptuning in the next 3 weeks and get them to look at it ill let you know. and damn Thendawg thats a lot worse than my situation lol, i guess ill keep trucking till i get everything right!

do us a favor and post a pic of where you welded your oil drain line in and a photo of your drain line itself. your drain line could be too low and be backing up and that is why it's smoking. also the drain line could of been kinked and that could be causing complications. just because the steel braid is good doesnt mean the rubber inside it is still good.
Financially if things are too tight. Pause for now and save your engine/parts and then when you feel comfortable start again.
Imagine spending money on a fully built engine to have it run worst than your stock engine......
I'm going back stock for the moment too diagnose my noisy fully built motor but as soon as it's fixed, I'll be right back on boost running 15-18 psi daily.
keep faith it'll work out.
