Saw this at the Scion Super Highway Event..it was on a Display tC...

Is this a Factory S/C??....Its Intercooled etc...

Anybody know anything about it???.....Jus Curious!!

lol thats a one of a kind I/C ive seen that tC in person and its a corp car.

AFAIK there aren't any plans for production for that I/C.

 

I though that was known as an "aftercooler" like the ones in the Mazdaspeed cars

 

well true its not an Air/Air intercooler like you see on cars like EVOs, but its a Water/Air intercooler, and it makes it more... stealth

 

Stage 2 TRD liquid cooled intercooler

there are no plans for production afaik... just a corporate car they lug around to different events for showing off... that's all... been around for years.

btw.. that's not an '08 tC either.... lol.. more like.. an '05.

 

so would this be possible... if you bought a Stage 2 TRD Intercooler? If it sounds dumb... sorry. But the curiosity is there...

and if you "took" it from that one, and put it on your car...

it wouldnt take much time for toyota to figure out who has it (that is if you show off your car)

 

they should make it. and how hard would it be to make something like that?

Doesnt make it too much more stealth, heat exchanger is usually placed behind the lower grill, like you see here behind the grill of my buddies Cobra.

 

I've never seen it. ...but if they made it, I'd hit it for sure!

 

Isnt that one an Air/Air intercooler? I was talking about Water/Air intercoolers, they are more stealth than Air/Air intercoolers (like most front mount intercoolers)

 

well.. that particular tC still has a FMIC located on the lower portion....

the liquid gets cooled by incoming air there and is fed back into that upper section (what you see pictured in the first post) where the liquid then cools the air going into the intake.
