Normal Oil Pressure + Balance Shaft Delete
I searched and couldnt find the normal/average oil pressure for the 2AZFE. Can anyone tell me what it would be? Also, I have heard reported increase in pressure with the balance shaft deleted. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance.
kyle your reading 6? thats not good, lowest it should be is 9 but then again your taking your reading from a sandwich adapter, mine came from the head where the stock sensor is.
in that location readings were as follows
idle 9-12
cruise 30-40 (depending on rpm)
cold idle (start up) 60

Could be a bit. Plus I am using a hodge podge of oil combos atm... Some Royal Purple ranging from 0-20 to 10-30 and some Mobile 1 5-30.
Disregard my readings, once I get the new oil in I can post a better reading.

its possible if you think about it. could be possible going from one oil filter brand to another may change it aswell depending on the filter element thats used in em. its not going to be much of a difference so nothing to really worry about but could be a reason why one guy reads higher oil pressure than the next.
just a thought

i have deleted balance shaft and cams.. started my untuned car today and if i'm not mistaken my oil pressure was 60 on a start, but i think the car was not 100% cold as my BBK went in and it was moved off the lift.
for now my oil is Royal Purple break-in oil and fuel return set up.
is that low ?

I think the oil pressure will be more accurate coming out of the sandwich adaptor than off the block, since it is going to the turbo which is not pressurized. Also, I don't think +/- 5 lbs oil pressure really matters (especially at idle).
When I asked Toan at Ptuning, he said as long as you don't have an undully low oil pressure when your in the throttle, your good.

I took out my shafts during my build and I'm at 70-80 at cold start....30-50 cruisen....amd 7-15 at idle depening on how hot the motor is.
Newer car have such tight bearing clearance it doesnt require alot of oil pressure at idle unlike older cars. Evo's idle spec is like 5psi or something really low like ours.
