As Alex said....

New Lesson Learned.... Don't do back to back to back to back to back runs and burnouts WITHOUT letting the car cool down between runs = Clutch overheating and Starting to slip in 4th and 5th gear.

Clutch started to overheat and stick. Tire setup was not good enough to achieve my goal (used up Drag Radials). Time slips will be uploaded shortly, and vids later after I get them transfered to the computer.

Yeah, it's called heat soak. Bring some ice next time you hot lap. BTW, what clutch are you running? I have a nice CM Stage 3 for sale ;)

Shortly... Hmmm

Preciate the offer, but it's Race clutch or no Clutch for me on this next go around. Running the Street/Strip clutch from ZPI presently, which is a Stage 3 spec clutch.

I reckon it doesn't matter what clutch you have though if you are doing 8 - 10 Passes non stop + burnouts before each run. Lesson learned though.

LET THE CLUTCH/CAR COOL DOWN BETWEEN RUNS!

PS....scanning slips

Not this time around. You can imagine having used up tires + heat soaked slipping clutch would not equate to 12sec ET slips. I have come to a conclusion.....SLICKS OR BUST!!!

I did get 1 out of 2 though....

12sec MPH trap speed

But 13sec ETs

PS.....got Stage 0 times on street tires too that I will be uploading. Firing up Scanner now.

As I started to practice, and the ET's started dropping, at a point, they started to go back up due to the clutch overheating.

No busted axles for me. They should hold 500hp if you drive the car right.

I won't be back to the track unless I'm running slicks. Traction is a B!tch and times suck if you can't put down your power.

By the way, just FYI.....the Tires were 225/45/17 mounted onto Stock 17inch Scion wheels.

PS...Slip is scanning. I will also post up the picture of what the Tires looked like BEFORE I went to the track on them.

you say your clutch was sliping in 5th gear. unless you were traping about 115, you should stay in fourth gear.

The 1320 feet is the Top of 4th gear. I meant to say 3rd and 4th. Sorry about that.

No, the conditions were still 93 Octane and 10's A/F Ratio. I turned up the boost and leaned the car out to HIGH 10's (10.6-10.7) A/F ratio, but by that time, the clutch would not hold any more power as I didn't turn it up until AFTER it was already overheated. I just did not realize it.

Tail Tail Signs that Your clutch has Heat Soak.

1) When you go to do a burnout, and you do not see smoke rising from the tires, but you are reving it.

2) When you come out of the burnout, and your shifter is STUCK in gear.

When I get the vid uploaded, you will see exactly what I'm talking about. I do a burnout and my tires arent even spinning and causing smoke. Instead, the clutch is. On that same burnout, you see me sit at the line but my boy (not my usual camera man) cut the tape so it doesn't show me backing off the line. I knew it was time to hang it up, cause the 1/4 track is an Hour away from home. I knew if I took it down that last pass, I was not going to make it back home.
