Default oil return line question...

i have the dezod s1 kit (bought used) so i need to get some little things here and there).

i just received my oil pan fitting, 'shadow series w10' from mrgasket.com. my oil return line is stainless steel and is cut at the end that will attach to the pan there is no fitting on it at all.
for quick reference, my oil pan fitting looks similar to the piece on the bottom right corner of these fittings...

can i find a piece (AN fittng) at home depot/lowes/ace hardware that i can put in the line that will connect to the W10 at the oil pan? or am i better off bringing the oil pan fitting to an auto parts store to ensure i find the right piece?

am i better off just getting a threaded piece with a barb fitting for the oil pan and just sliding the hose over the barb and clamping it down? such as the one shown on the turbonetics instructions....page 18/19..
http://www.turboneticsinc...3_revG_SciontC_manual.pdf

i plan on calling dezod in the morning.

your last part sounds to be the most effective part to prevent a leak besides buying a new return line with a threaded end on it already.

sounds like it would be easier to just use a barbed fitting or order another return line.

thendawg.

you will do it with a standard hose clamp "worm gear" slide it right over and tighten for a seal.

chris,

that sucks hope it gets faster faster! hahaha

no i was just asking out of curiosity - i ordered mine from atp and had it custom made to my length and with a 45 fitting on one end and straight on the other end It was actually as cheap as i could make one from anywhere else and saved me from somehow screwing up the crimps and causing a leak

beedee id just go for a new return line instead of rigging one up if you already have a fitting welded onto your oil pan.

$27 bux....not too bad

alright folks, just got off the phone with paul at dezod and decided to order the entire set up for the oil return line.

http://www.dezod.com/pd-dezod-motorsports-swivel.cfm

this way i am virtually free of any leaking.... :rossing fingers:: he was telling me that the old way the kits used to come was kind of a hack job (my word, not his) more or less by simply clamping the line over the barb fitting.

no offense to the seller by anymeans, he did throw in a few extras, but buying this used kit is getting closer and closer to the cost of a new one with the things i've had to buy that now come standard with the s1 kit. ::kicking self in the butt::

i'd like to add that he was VERY helpful, thanks paul!
