OK... DYNO question?
First thing you should know is that you should NOT compare your dyno to someone else's unless you were both dynoing at the same facility.
A dyno result should be for you. Use it to compare future dyno plots to see gains/losses from mods or whatever. You should use the same dyno facility to get the best comparable data - you should also dyno in the same weather conditions.
Comparing dyno plots to others is almost pointless.. too many variables are at play to get a fair comparison.

This is exactly what I try to explain to people - I have a dyno software with my obd scanner - yea the dyno numbers dont match up well with any other dyno out there, but that doesnt make it worthless, it gives me something to use to judge increase vs loss when tuning my car which is all a dyno is really supposed to be for. If you want to prove you have more power / are faster than someone do it at the track. Racing on paper is ftl

i just want to see if the numbers people say they are putting out are REAL numbers...
instead of inflated numbers...
just to say for example.. if i bought a kit advertised at 3XX whp and i installed it and tuned it and it came up 2XX whp, i would be ____ed..
i will let my car preform at the track.. but its nice to know what your up against

Everything is over exaggerated in sales, that's why they all say "add up to XX HP!"
Look at the Unichip that's being sold on TRDSparks. It's advertised as putting out almost 190HP with just an intake and muffler. Ever since that went up on TRDSparks, I've noticed a flock of retards thinking that they'll actually gain more power from a map and a fart can, than from a supercharger.

That's always the dilemma of a company. They want to increase says but also stay ethical. Dezod had been under-stating their HP gains for the longest time. Of course as more kits enter the market and more aggressive marketing happens, it's hard to not get sucked in.
Don't play too much into advertised power. Like I mentioned previously, most of these kits will make relatively the same power. Even with major changes to turbo sizing, for the most part the power will be close because we're talking stock motors on low boost. The way to get more power out of all these kits is aggressive tuning - and you can do that with any kit.

Yea we have a local performance shop, which will be kept unnamed, that I know is using some type of correction. An auto tc running 8 psi on a 16g put down over 280whp there. At the same shop, a car that Im now doing the work on put down over 220whp on s/c with stock pulley!

Are the car and f/i kit that are being compared all the same? I can see if you just want to determin if your car is making the same power as stated by the manufacture. but if the car or kit is different than the comparison is "pointless". Two different cars making same power and tq with same weight would preform differently on the track. oh btw, im sure the driver has something to do with performance too...
