Consequences:

1. Police
2. Tickets
3. Loud
4. You will hear nothing but your car, not even your radio
5. No Back Pressure
6. Rinse and Repeat this list over and over....

Can someone explain to me why back pressure is need on a turbo?
I just can see why you'd want back pressure on something you want to spin as freely as possible. Thats like driving around with your parking break on...

that is not true on the no back pressure. there will be some, just not alot. you cant tell me a 1 inch downpipe can handle the full exhaust plus its not fully open until your at full boost.

and dont worry about police, if your stomping your gas around them you deserve the ticket. it does sounds like a freight train though but a good sound ..

i wanted to do it just to see if there was a performance difference, not keep it like that forever

anyways i did it tonight, yes it was loud, but even more cool was the constant turbo whine and spool when i let off the gas. put it back together though, too loud for a daily

if you like it and like the performance, go for an electric cut-out or something... my friend has it on his golf 1.8t... huge difference between open and closed....

guess my car sounds like poop, but everyone else seems to enjoy it. i guess i need a disgustingly loud exhaust to drown that noise out
