Default For the peeps with the TurboXS Type25 BPV...

Is there any particular amount of turns the BPV needs? When I bought it off Yankee, I opened it where the spring is located, but I didn't count how many times I turned it. And I think before I installed it, my boost gauge was showing 20 vac, and now its like 15 but it keeps bouncing. Any words of advice?

Thanks...

you have to turn it a half turn at a time until you reach the PSI you desire... it sucks but that the only way to do it if you didn't count

Phresh, I didn't get the instructions. I bought it off someone here. But it was my fault for even opening it. If you could get the instructions that would be awesome. Thanks.

hey man sorry for the late response im reading the instructions and it says turn the cap fully clockwise until it stops.......your gunna hook it up to the wastegate and other pressure source connect everything using a vac line......ensure the arrow points towards the wastegate when installing....secure all connections.

now this is the part where you might wanna mark the cap....it says turn counter-clock wise 3 full turns.......and now your ready to adjust it for desired amout of boost......hope this helps

Wrong instructions. He said BPV, which is a bypass valve, which is used to recirculate intake air when the throttle is disengaged. It has nothing to do with a boost controller. Superchargers can't use a boost controller anyways.

Only instructions I could find on the TurboXS website is for the Type-H BPV. Adjustment should be similar. If yours doesn't use the washers and is adjusted by the amount of turns, then turning clockwise on your BPV is equivalent to adding a washer to the Type-H. Hope it helps.

Look at the bottom of the page.

Thank you guys for all your help. I went on a cruise today and I noticed it was just 5-6lbs of boost. With the stock BPV, I was easily hitting 7lbs and it felt like it was pushing harder, I will try adjusting it tomorrow when I do some work on my car. Thanks again you guys.

Put a few washers in it. I have a good number in mine to keep it holding boost. Open it, take it all apart and rub axel grease where the piston slides in and out of too. You want the grease to create a seal separating the top and the bottom of the BPV's piston. I have probably about 10 washers in mine to get it to read out fully. I then tightened it all the way down. I dont like the whole adjustability. Its supposed to be adjusted by adding or removing washers, not tightening or loosening the cap.

I like the TurboSmart BOV. There's a couple different springs that you can use, and it's adjusted by turning the adjustment ****. No washers to worry about :D. I just wish the placement of the BOV/BPV was in a more convenient location instead of all the way back next to the firewall.

^ you and me both. Since this BPV is larger, it's been actually hitting the firewall and making a whole bunch of noise thats extremely annoying. I'm gonna try what Kik said in a few and see how that works out for me.

Make sure the vacuum line connected to the BPV doesn't have any kinks in it. I ran into that problem last summer. I wrapped the line with electrical tape to make it a little more stiff and it's helped some. I'm going to get a vacuum block to clean the lines up some.
