why are you asking if you think that you know better than they are?

buy the turbo, get some money get it installed and tuned in the same time.. = no worries!

yeah, tune, which is more expensive, tuning a car, or rebuilding an engine?

you put that turbo on with no tune, and the moment you hit boost, your engine goes boom. bye bye engine, bye bye turbo kit, bye bye precious tc.

don't boost on a budget, get the turbo kit tuned before you drive it.

As long as its a stage 0 thats not true

while it is better to get it tuned before driving, and will result in safer driving and more power, I had my stage 0 installed almost a year with no tune, and no problem. And I beat the crap outa my car. Only started tuning once I added components and up'd the boost a bit.

Oddly enough at 10psi with a tune is where i cracked a piston ring, no problems at 5-6psi

the safe route is to tune. You get reliable power added. The easy route is to not tune and keep the boost at a low PSI... this is not reliable and has possible negative outcomes. People have run low boost with no tune in the past with little to no issues. Most people would advise against this mainly because you are altering the air flow significantly and should adjust the amount of fuel and such accordingly,

tuning is your friend.

yea, you can maybe get away with it if it is a stage 0, but that is still 6 psi, tc-collins ran a trd supercharger without the reflash and he blew his engine. running an untuned turbo is a huge risk.

yes,the supercharger is different from turbos, but that doesn't negate the fact that boosting an engine that was originally designed to operate n/a without a tune is a bad idea. but whatever, if your too impatient or cheap to get your car tuned properly, i hope it works out for you and you don't end up looking through junk yards and ebay for a new block when you throw a rod and make a window in your engine. you wanna risk your car over getting it tuned, have fun.

If you think you don't need a tune, you're not ready for a turbo.

why did you even start this thread?
you asked a question.
and then tried to argue with everyone who answered it.
since you already know it all.
go turbo your car, dont tune it, beat the fk outta it, then blow it up.

Driving a turboed car without getting it tuned is like running without tying your shoes. Something will either break or fall off.
