Default PTUNING: Competition 3" T304SS Exhaust (now-PREORDER)

PTUNING: Competition 3" Polished Stainless Steel S-Back & Turbo-Back Exhaust Systems (Scion tC)

Many of our customers has been waiting for us (over one year to be exact) to develop our 3" s-back and turbo-back exhaust system for a turbo-charged Scion tC. We just wanted to let everyone know that we've completed our prototype and we are currently dyno testing the system on our DynoDynamics dyno. We still have a few more weeks of dyno testing and road testing and possibly some more minor changes before we put the system into production. We still need to test for durability, exhaust resonance, and fit and finish. We promise that this system is not another me-too exhaust sytem. Everything performance component we build for the Scion tC will be dyno-tested, road-tested. We will be using our TimeAttack Turbo Scion tC to test out all of our future products.

It's common knowledge that a turbo-charged car with no exhaust is the best exhaust. Unlike normally aspirated cars that required some back-pressure (restriction) in the exhaust system to run properly, a turbo-charged on the other hand works best without any exhaust restriction.

We set a couple of designed goals when we started this project:
1) The system had to be made entirely out of mandrel-bent T-304 stainless steel (no mild steel, aluminized steel or 400-series stainless steel). We thought about T-321 stainless, but the cost was out of the reach of most consumer.
2) The exhaust material shouldn't rust, could withstand the heat, and was affordable.
3) Minimized tight-bends in the system but still clear the exhaust tunnel and rear-subframe--high-pressure exhaust gas does not like to make tight turns.
4) Centralized the weight of the exhaust system as much as possible-critical in racing
5) Keep the exhaust-to-ground clearance as high as possible
6) Make the system looks clean and factory-like as possible. If you live in Northern Virginia, especially Fairfax County, you don't want your car to stand out--no coffee-can exhaust.
7) Keep the exhaust toned down as much as possible
8) Make the system modular to integrate with existing exhaust components on the market or future exhaust components developed by us.

Below is some specs on the system.

Competition 3" Polished Stainless Steel S-Back & Turbo-Back Exhaust System (Scion tC) Design Feature:
-Dyno-Proven gains
-Faster Turbo Spool-Up
-3" Mandrel-Bent Full T304 Stainless Steel Tubing
-T304 Stainless Steel Flanges/Tips
-Race-Inspired Exhaust Design
-Stealthy, Cop-Friendly Exhaust-Tip
-No crooked Coffee-Can Muffler sticking out the back
-Low, Throaty Neighbor-Friendly Exhaust Tone
-Tuner-Friendly rear O2 bung for Accurate Dyno Tuning
-Modular Design
--Works with 60mm S-Pipe/2.5" S-Pipe/Stock S-Pipe
--Works with Ptuning Full T304SS 3" S-Pipe w/integrated CEL-Eliminator
--Works with Ptuning Race-Only 3" Ultralite Rear-Exhaust Section
--Optional Secondary Resonator/Muffler
--Optional HighFlow Metal-Core Catalytic Convertor
-Designed to work with Ptuning Carbon Fiber Racing Rear-Diffuser

Below is some numbers from our preliminary dyno testing. Keep in mind that dyno graph below is intended to show you the gains with our exhaust system and not about what turbo we're running. So please don't ask us what turbo this is.

The RED graph is our initial run with the following exhaust:
-stock s-pipe
-stock mid-pipe w/cat
-greddy EVO2 axle-back
-12.5psi taper to 11.1psi at redline
-11.0:1-11.5:1 AFR

The BLUE graph is our initial run with the following exhaust:
-stock s-pipe
-Ptuning S-back 3" exhaust
-12.6psi taper to 11.5psi at redline
-11.0:1-11.5:1 AFR

Note: there's a 20+WHP/25+ FT/TQ gain across the entire mid-range. The turbo now spools much quicker. The turbo is making full boost of 12.6psi@3850rpm compare to the old setup of 12.5psi@4250. That's 400rpm quicker spoolup. Also with the 3" system, the boost-taper from peak boost to redline is less than before (11.5psi vs 11.1psi at redline).

Again, this is with just our 3" S-back system. Once we finish prototyping our full 3" S-pipe, we will provide the dyno numbers for our full 3" Turbo-back system.

Sorry we cannot release the pictures of the exhaust system at this time. Once we've completed our testing and also figure out the production cost, we will post the pictures and cost for the system. SO PLEASE DON'T ask us for pictures or pricing at this time.

We will be bringing out our TimeAttack Turbo tC to the Lustine Scion Event on Sunday, Nov 11, 2007. If you want to take a sneak peak at what the prototype system looks and sounds like, we'll be happy to fire it up for your listening pleasure.

Thank you for your patience, trust me it will be worth the wait. Everything we build will be thoroughly tested and our design will be functional first and foremost. All of our product offering for the forced-induction tC will work in conjunction with other components that we will be developing.

So start saving up, there's going to be a lot of goodies coming from now till next summer.

I like how people read everything, especially the paragraph that states:

Sorry we cannot release the pictures of the exhaust system at this time. Once we've completed our testing and also figure out the production cost, we will post the pictures and cost for the system. SO PLEASE DON'T ask us for pictures or pricing at this time.

That's a great shot of the car catching air over the hill after the bridge. Any more pics? Definitely swing by next time you see us. We're always happy to talk about cars. Here's the link to the lustine event. We'll be taking the Ptuning tC down there for the event. Hopefully we'll also have our prototype 3" S-Pipe completed before the event.

i wish i had more shots of it. unfortunatly that was the only good one of the tc that i was able to get. i've got a few from some of the other cars at that spot that turned out good.

i have one of the hankook porsche with all 4 wheels of the ground. also a couple of evos and phil from element tuning's sti with all 4 off the ground. i can post them if anyone wants to see them.
