It was fun bringing the tC to the dragstrip mostly because it cured curiosity on trap speed. The car got a lot of interest and most people there figured it was a car set up for the road coarse.
It took a couple of passes for me to figure out that as soon as the wheels broke traction, it was time to shift instead if holding it in that gear. Basically, the car wouldnt put down power until I put it in fourth gear because it blew the first 3 away as soon as it hit the meat of the powerband. Even though I eneded up having to shortshift the first 3 gears, when I put it in fourth the car never bogged... it pulled like crazy.
The 3rd timeslip shows how a car decently set up for the 1/4 can still run a mid 12 second run only trapping at 108mph, it was a mustang. But let me tell you, about 200 feet before the line I blew past him as if I hit a 300 shot of nitrous

 

Now those are trap speeds that should be seen with a 450WHP tC. Not the 109 that some other guy was claiming .

To get back on topic, any news on the tranny? And any news on the secret mod that you wanted me to not say anything about?

 

As you may already know, we broke 4th gear again on our TA tc when we took it to the drag strip a few weeks back and we were unsure if we could get the car ready for the RTA this weekend. However, we managed to rebuild the tranny last night, so if anyone is interested, we will be at Joliet, IL for the RTA this weekend. We will probably be running low boost to spare the 4th gear this weekend and if it survives the first few timed laps, we may turn up the boost for the final run on Sunday.

Also, we've discovered a potential flaw with the factory tranny and we're currently machining some parts to hopefully fix the problem along with strengthening up the tranny for the next event in Nashville, TN.
