9 or 10lbs should be no problem. Just make sure you get it tuned.

here is my theory

talking to a toyota tech, he said that "an engine that wasn't originally built for boost shouldn't be" when i asked him about how much boost a tc could handle.

so i thought about that, and while the tc wasn't built for boost per se, if trd and toyota agree that it can handle 7 psi from the supercharger, then 7 psi is fine. and since everybody from nst to zpi to forcefed racing has pulleys for 9 or 9.5 psi, then that shouldn't be too much of a problem either.

9.5PSI Supercharged and 9.5PSI Turbocharged are 2 completely different animals. Most supercharged tc owners almost never see 9.5PSI. Usually we see 2-5PSI as we make full boost at redline. Also a turbo creates even more heat due to its design than a supercharger thus causing a difference in the power.

i heard alot of people running 10 psi with no problems i think im either gonna go for 11 or 12 it will prob be 11 tho, u should be fine at 10 or 11 on a turbo 12 might be pushing it unless u have a really really good tune.

Noob question: what do you mean by tune?

tune means you have to adjust the ecu timing, air fuel ratios and so on.

anyway, i know that s/c and t/c are different animals, but my point is that that when it is in boost, if it can tolerate the psi of a supercharger, it can tolerate the same amount of boost from a turbocharger right? 7 psi is 7 psi, i know that a supercharger doesn't see that all the time, but anyway, how would you control the boost of a supercharger with a boost controller? the boost is directely related to the engine rpm right?
