question about gas. my wife messed up..
o.k. my wifes car was in the shop today and I let here drive my tc while I drove my evo to work.. well she decided to fill up, she uses 87 octane in here car and I use 93 because I'm boosted.. She decided to put her normal 87 octane in the car and I happen to be talking to her on the phone while she was doing it and she put roughly 8-9 gallons in the tank of 87. Question is should I try and get that fuel out or put some kinda octane booster additive into the fuel or just let it be and let it run threw about 250 miles (bout what I get a tank in city)..
Need some advice ASAP.. thanks in advance.

(9 x 87 + 5 x 93)/14 ~ 89 octane
(4 x 93 + 10 x 89)/14 ~ 90 octane
Edit:
(4 x 97 + 10 x 89)/14 ~ 91 octane
I'd say, you can probably drive it down at least 1/4 of the way without hitting boost, and fill up with 93 octane, and you should be good to drive on boost again. But if you feel comfortable putting 'octane booster' in your car, you can do that too, though I've heard the octane boosters are nothing but gimmicks.
Edit: If you can get race gas (at 97 octane or better), then four gallons of that will clear your tank too. Course, it's probably more expensive than a normal tank of 93 octane.

Excuse the dumb question here, but other than some possible pinging and a little bit of crud, are there really any long-term effects?
And wouldn't topping off with >91 a few times in the next week prevent issues as well?

welp I drove for 4 hours today after work lol keeping under 3k.. very hard.. Got down to a little under 1/4 of a tank topped with with 93. I think I should be alright.. I read more about the octane booster while driving around stopping at some places, most of the bottles say it will only increase octance by 1 point per bottle.. waste of money it seems.
haha yeah. She's been spotted speeding around racing civics. LOL.....no joke. She even got pulled over in his tC once. My Dad will steal his car to take it to work to show off. He works at a Scion dealership. I'm glad I dont leave near them so they dont take mine.

I just don't let anyone drive my car. Especially on an empty tank. And certainly not enought to where they will run the tank down.
Not only does my wife not like to drive stick, but I took her for a ride after I got boosted, and she got so scared that she does not want to ride in it for awhile!
But she still let's me take my son in it...strange
