Default question about ZPI evoIII 16g turbo.

Does anyone know why on the zpi website pic the 16g has an internal wastegate actuator; and in the kit the manifold is externally gated and in pics of the kit it has an external. Is it just a general pic of the evoIII 16g? or is the wg flapper welded closed by zpi? I

It's sad too. The turbo has an excellent ported 34mm internal wastegate.. but with the actuator on there, it won't clear the radiator fans.

It's welded shut, and we use the Tial 38mm WG on the manifold.

If it's not welded shut, then you will get that annoying ticking/rattling sound... Doesn't hurt anything, but it's rather annoying. Mine is not welded shut...YET.

You could run it if you put some spal or similar fans on there, but it would cost more than the external gate. ;)

::WARNING I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT TURBOS::

I have an 18G with an internal wastegate (greddy turbo), I could "weld it shut" and put an external wategate on? From what I remember reading an external adds more power or is that just an open dump?

yea, but then you would have to weld a flange on that beautiful manifold...
