im in the middle of putting my kit together and was told by a coworker that they wont let me run my car at the track if the bottle isnt mounted to the bottom of the car, meaning the brackets bolted to the steel underneath all our crap by our spare tire. i was planning on hiding the bottle in a fake speakerbox and mounting that on the "carpeted floorboard" that covers the spare tire. so my question is, has anyone been denied at the track for having a bottle mounted to the spare tire cover? his reasoning is that it wouldnt be secure in the case of an accident.

take your spare out and bolt it there under the carpet

I know for a fact you need to purchase a fire jacket to run at the track now. I got mine from summit racing for $50

 

yea my brothers got a jacket i can use... i could swear ive seen a bunch of people with bottles mounted down like that i just dont know if theyev ever run it at the track.. i know ive seen rx8s at the track with a bottle mounted like that in their trunk, i just dont wanna get there and have them tell me i cant run

 

It has to be bolted to the solid surface
