Default quick update on the car.

as some of you guys know, iv been having little issues here n there, but its bout that time i get her running right, gona be turning up the boost to 11-12 n getting retuned. I just ordered the 255lph from dezod, gona be installing it as soon as it comes in,

Is it difficult to install myself? or should i get it installed, i mean i installed my own turbo kit, so i cant imagine it being anymore challenging than that. its just that there are no install guides anywhere online or on this forum....

I'm in the same boat.. I have one sitting right here.

I haven't done it yet because I don't have money for a tune now.. and I think if I install it, my car will idle and drive funny cuz it might be too rich.

walbro can be a pita to put in, mainly the cap that clips on the end because the pump is slightly longer than the case in most cases. you may end up extending the gaps of the clips on the cap to clip onto the cylinder around the pump.

hey rob in your case it might benefit you if you install the pump since you are running a lil lean. my buddy (one with the black 240)told me that in some cars when you put in the pump it richens it out a lil or doesnt do much depending on the tune. oh and by the way he ran a 11.7 that night (my boy with the black 240)!

Niiice! I'm glad he was able to get in better runs.

He must've had his laptop with him this time huh? Enabled the AEM two-step.

The fuel pump can be installed by yourself, but you will need a dremel to make it fit in the stock housing... Be sure the order the low pressure 255 and not the high pressure... The high pressure pump will cause you to run rich but it will still be driveable... The low pressure should go in without much change to the afr.

Shouldn't you get a FPR before installing it?

FPR does nothing on a returnless fuel setup (our Stock setup).

You would need to turn it into a return line setup to utilize an FPR.

You both are half right... to make more then 400whp a return line setup is need and if this is done an aftermarket fpr is necessary... Adding a high pressure 255 will bump up the global fp but it can be adjusted with injector duty cycle...

Using the low pressure 255 will add volume without addin pressure there by negating the immediate need for a fpr

This is an area I need to do some more research in. Trying to see how a fuel pump upgrade is going to do any good, if your still using the stock FPR. I would think to convert to a return style setup and add a FPR, fuel rail to increase volume.

I know what you mean, Travis.

I purchased the Walbro as a security blanket. I know it's not going to give me more HP.. but it will probably last longer than stock. My goals are only 300 reliable whp on a stock motor. Very simple.

I do over that now on stock pump. Just 750cc injectors for right now. I can get the Walbro for pretty cheap, but I haven't decided if I want that or the External ARP one. And one of my crew members makes a fuel rail for the tC.

That's really good for a 16G. Would love to see the power curve and tq curve on that.
