Default Reasons for smoke Near turbo/out exhaust?

ok guys.. as everyone probably knows my tranny is like dead. i have 1st and 2nd in my auto and thats it so until friday all i can do is drive around in 2nd gear (sometimes i put it in first then shift into 2nd to put less stress on 2nd.. usually so i dont hold traffic up im going 40-45 at like 3.5-4k rpms. now i started to realize when i stop at traffic lights or something i get smoke flying past my window from my exhaust alot.. so tonight i drove around to see and there was smoke so i pull over and open my hood and theres smoke coming from near my housing/turbo and i put it in park and hit the gas with my hand up to like 2k just really quickly and ran to my exhaust and there was smoke just flowing out.. ya its greyish color.. idk if its cuz im driving at such high rpm's that is causing this cuz my tune wasnt meant for 2nd gear driving around lol.. im hoping i didnt blow a turbo seal cuz that would be really random to have happen and a pain in the butt.

so i have a catless DP/SP and ptuing 3" sp back exhaust.. anyone have any thoughts about this?

after i get my new tranny friday im going to see if this still happens but i remember when mine was still normal sometimes smoke would come along but only usually if i did use L-2-3...

p.s. never shifting my car again with the new tranny. lmao thats why mine died so fast. Dont flame me. i payed the price already and i just paid a ____load for a built auto.

any ideas?

looks like a blown seal.. try to do a compression and leak down test too.. since you have a bad tranny, its hard to tell how's the tune is performing.. disconnect your downpipe if you see something wrong maybe oil in there

you turbo will get more damage, you will be burning oil so you will lose oil and possibly bad oil in your system.. you will lose power too.

Best way to check for a blown seal is to take off the turbo's intake and look for oil. Also take off the DP and look for oil back there.

depends on the shop, a diesel shop might help you but you can check it by yourself.. i would be scared more of a blown headgasket than a blown turbo seal

between carbon buildup and oil?

Carbon build up will be like soot and oil will still be a liquid. which you shouldn't have either in your intake.

if it's white smoke your turbo is cooking oil. you can probably get it rebuilt but that'll cost ya. i personally would suggest calling your tubro manufacture and seeing if you can get it warrentied

well i got it from dezod.. not even that long ago.. there seems to be soot in my intake.. like darkish dirt looking stuff.. no liquid though.. wonder what the smoke could be..

how much would rebuilding the turbo be.. should i just buy a new one..

i don't understand how you have carbon buildup in your intake. thats weird right there. it could be smoke residue from cooking oil i guess. sounds like your seals are bad. some t3/t4's don't like not having oil restictors so my buddy and i found out on ours. my leak stopped itself his turbo just gave out.
