Default Rebuilding Engine: Should I do it?

I have been thinking about rebuilding my engine lately, and haven't been able to come up with a clear cut answer. I have thought about buying ZPI stage 2 long block, but will I also need to get the ZPI stage 1 head and stage 2 as well? And also, if I got stage 2 long block, should I get stage 3 short block? Thanks for your help!

The Stage 2 Long Block already comes with whatever is needed for "internal" work to be done doesn't it? Here's it's item list:

* ZPIracing race rod bearings
* ZPIracing race main bearings
* Scion OEM rear main seal
* Scion OEM head gasket
* ZPIracing ARP head studs
* ZPIracing low compression pistons
* ZPIracing forged rods
* ZPIracing 1mm oversized valves
* ZPIracing double wound vale springs
* ZPIracing titanium retainers
* ZPIracing locks
* ZPIracing street port and polish
* ZPIracing 3angle Valve job

Isn't all of that enough? Or do I need to buy the head packages as well?

this is what I would do:

ERL sleevs
Wiseco Pistons
Manley Rods
Manley 1mm oversize valves
Manley retainers and valve springs
Brian Crower cams when avaialable
A1 Fastener head and main studs
New toyota seals
ACL bearings
Head Porting by an accomplished person who does 4 cylinder work.

Ask Brain ( jester ) with the white tC.

I would think a fully sleeved built engine from top to bottom, without turbo your looking somewere around 15k. I may be off by a little.

I Know its not going to be cheap, but your going to have to find what your excact goals are for your tC. For me, all i want at this time is a pretty quick tC, so i have the ZPI stage 1 head and turbo kit. Maybe later on ill get the rods and pistons and up the boost slightly.

It would deff be a great start for an up and coming monster, but you bank account will have to be monsterous aswell, lol.

Manley is releasing them in April. Their valvetrain has already been released.

Sleeved is not necessary. But a fully built engine + turbo kit, and you are looking in the ball park of $10k.

You don't NEED the head package on top of all that.
