Default Replacement turbo opinions!!!

So I recently blew up my temporary 20g ebay turbo that surprisingly lasted a year lol. Anyways I'm not looking to upgrade power or anything just reliability and quality. I just want a replacement for the td05 20g that I had so I dont have to mess too much with retuning or with replacing the manifold and downpipe. I've been looking trying to find a greddy, precision, hahn, ect. td05 20g and cant find anything or really anything close. I just want something that will last and make my tC the reliable daily that it is. (I'm done messing with it and being frustrated with fwd bs and am just saving for a FR-S ) Anyways let me know what you guys would recommend or where you would suggest I go look.

replace turbo, install lsd, tune suspension, hand frs its a** on a backroad, be happy :D

Can you not get a rebuilt 20g (or equivalent) off garrett's website? I thought they sold rebuilts with a manufacturers warranty at a heck of a deal? (It HAS been awhile since I was in the boosted club...like..10 years).

Garrett has some nice stuff out there now a days, but I like precision due to the wheels that they use, comparing the two wheels side by side sold me on the precision and I have personally gone with the 6266BB for my build. Just wished that they offered a stainless hot side like what garrett does now.

Maybe the Precision 5558 would work for you? I have a few friends that run the precision stuff and have had no problems with it. Maybe the new turbo that they just released about a week ago?

I already am pretty confident that I could take an frs on a backroad but I'm just done trying to fight fwd lol. I'll give garrett a call tomorrow and see what I can find.

If you would've talked to me a month ago I would have been all over that because I was planning on building my motor, going with a 6262 and aiming for like 4-500hp. but now I decided to just keep it as a fun reliable daily and build up some money for a fr-s and build the suspension and hop on the first decent turbo kit they make lol

Depends on how many curves there are in the road... lol

The FRS has a nice suspension/chassis right from the factory. You will make up time on the straights

Yeah I've test drove them And they're real agile around turns and have almost no body roll for a stock car. Maybe its just because I'm more used to it and have better tires but I felt like my tC had better handling. Not stock suspension BTW

you were gonna run a 6262 for 4 to 500? i ran the precision 5857 and it was awesome for that range. spools quicker than the 6262 thats for sure. im thinkin of goin with the 6262 next. riding in thendawgs car has made me want to switch.

Sell him your turbo so he can make the reliable power with a quick spool. And then you will have some money to purchase your new turbo!
