Hey guys i bought a used s/c and the stock 7psi pulley was already on there, i installed the s/c and everything doesnt line up, and i need to pull that pulley off anyways to place my NST 9.5 pulley on there, does anyone have a DIY or maybe some pics of them getting the pulley off and replacing it with the NST one or just how to get that pulley off in general? pics would be very helpful and if there are any special tools that you used in the process, thanks in advance btw if anyone can help me ASAP because im supposed to get tuned on wednesday and want to have everything ready thanks!!!!

since you have a 2006 scion tc, you just need to take off the TRD cap and remove the bolt, I dont recall the size, but you remove the bolt, put the new pulley on, and put on the new belt (different size belt)

Yea I but the only thing is the bolt isn't on there (have a new one coming to me) but I don't know how to remove the pulley itself from the shaft I was thinking of gettin either a rubber or brass mallet and tapping it off because there is no bolt holding and I can't seem to get it off, I tried pullin but I've heard of people using a strap wrench I jus don't know how to get it off

once the bolt is removed, you slide it off of the shaft

^ that's really how easy it is... when ChrisGarage installed mine, he took the bolt off, slid the 7lb pulley off, then put the 9.5 pulley on... done and done!

i would not suggest a mallet.

i have pictures of the install, but i don't see how they would help you. it really should not be that hard..actually slides off with the pressure of two fingers.

you said you bought this used. was it in good working order?

did you loosen the tensioner bolt? and if the bolt securing the pulley is the same (minus the head) as the 07-08, it's a 3/8"-24 x 1" bolt. NOT a standard 3/8" bolt which is 3/8"-16

I just installed mine last night and came across the same problem with the stock pulley. I resolved it with the pulley puller as well and it came off with ease.
