Default round 2: not as newbie stage 0 install

what a difference it makes to have a little experience, and the right tools. the latter being slightly more beneficiary of the two. right off the bat, the idling was a huge improvement. the idling is nice and consistent, with no stalling when parked. there is still stalling with high boost and drop, but thats expected (atmospheric BOV). charge pipe rubs a little at high rpms, but i can fix that by clocking the turbo ever so slightly. again, the car still rips, but its more of a piece of mind quality this time knowing everything is tightened to torque specs. hopefully by the end of the week, i'll have put all my gauges in the pod. hopefully next week, i'll have it tuned (i still need someone to help me wire emanage.) here are some pics of jets hot work. thanks for looking. oh and some pics of my new wheels.

Nice to see you got that rollin. We won the turbocharger from the ZPI shootout, so it's going on in 2 weeks.

thanks vito, i know youre a busy man. yes i will get in touch with him. id rather not pay to have it done.

the only codes i have are "stuck rich" codes, which will hopefully go away when i tune.

you know youre not a newbie anymore when you own your own OBD II scanner.

Also, it appears that your missing a vacuum hose from your wq (im not positive though ive only used tial wg before.)

It's thermal coated I would imagine. Keeping temps down.

It doesnt look thermal coated, you can see paint on the downpipe, it looks like it has rubbed off some like paint would do.

I seriously hope thats not paint, or else your car is going to smell like ____ for a few weeks until it burns off. Even though those cans say the paint is good for 1500degrees, your manifold is going to have temps between 1400-1700 and it wont take long for it to burn off.

Oh yeah, now I see what you are talking about. idk, did you paint it, or thermal coat it?

Thats the reflection from the wastegate..

The manifold and turbo look like they are coated flat blue thermal. Looks ok, I would rather have it shiny.

Look on the right of the housing near the charge pipe vband, you can see some of the cast grey, like the coating is thin, if that is thermal coating it doesnt look like they did a thourough job, also that is definatley not a reflection on the downpipe flange

it was sent out to Jet coat...I can almost guarantee that the paint will not peel off for at least 20,000 miles bro...it looks different on the downpipe cause its stainless steel instead of cast iron like the manifold.

you cant have it shiny. not from jet hot at least. they wont do a sterling finish on manifold or housing that gets above a certain temp.

because youre attempting to insult my intelligence. newbie or not, who the hell would paint their turbo housing (even with engine cover paint that is high temp deterrent)? and if you read what i wrote in the initial post, it says "here are some pics of jet hot's work..." it wasnt, "here are some pics of my newly spray painted turbo..."

You would reallly really be suprised at how many newbies have painted there headers etc....., I didnt catch your opening statement about the jetcoating. It seriously looks like paint, especially with your antisieze all over your dp flange, if it wasnt for that i wouldnt of second guessed it..

I wasnt attempting to insult you at all, if i was you would of known, but if you want to get your panties in a bunch over a question, then go for it.
