Mine has the same problem, I am working on making a new shaft in the next week or so. I might be slowed down because of the holidays but I will be making a new shaft. I don't know of a price yet as I have not talked to the machine shop. The shaft I will be making will be a full shaft and not a hollowed out tube like stock. I will post up info as soon as I can get it.

You can't buy the shaft from anywhere unless you make it because TRD doesn't sell s/c parts and vortech won't deal with you because of the patent TRD has on our units. So up a creek without a paddle... my car has been down for a month also while I was trying to get Scion to man up to their crap, but ofcourse they didn't. But, good news for me and you atleast because I will have shafts soon lol.

wow so the shaft is a part that you cant order from the dealer at all that sucks so in that case please keep me updated on what you come up with i have already got and installed the upgraded bearing that i afraid might be trashed now becouse of the shaft my machanic said when he did the rebuild that the shaft and stock bearing had rust all over them and one of the bearings came out in peices he cleaned the shaft up thinking it was fine and put it back together with the new bearings when i got the car back it sounded great but after 40 miles of driving it started making the same noise he did say that the new bearing went on alot easyer then the old ones came off we think the rust removed matierel from the shaft to allow it to spin in the bearing

this really sucks this thanks alot trdusa. they should make replacement part for anythink they market

u dont need a new shaft, just locate some better bearings and replace them...ceramic and with a better speed rating...ask kikcaffeine on here, he might still sell his rebuild kits

He has play in the shaft after putting on the new bearings he got from kik so yes he does need a new shaft and possibly new bearings all over again. Most of the time when your bearings seize they ruin your shaft.

If the shaft goes, is there a particular sound or any other symptoms,or do you need to open it up to see? I have a slight chatter at idle when it's cold (that wasn't there last year - it's been going on since mid-summer...not better, not worse), almost as if there's something loose at the pulley end, but other than the sound, there seems to be no problems, and it clears up over 2K RPMs. I'd rather not take it to the dealer...but the more I'm reading up on the issues that folks are having after a year/year and a half with the S/C, the more I wish spent the money elsewhere...

If you take off the belt, and if you have any play in the pulley, if you pull on it and it comes out a bit, or if you wiggle up and down and right and left if there is anymore than a hair of movement, then something isn't right.

Keep us updated on the shaft you are working on, mine S/C is starting to make a weird noise and I have a feeling it will be taking a dump soon, I have about 15K miles on mine, thanks.

you can can't buy a replacement shaft from trd, I will be making shafts within the next two weeks, my shafts will be full forged aircraft aluminum instead of hollow tubes, stay tuned. i am trying my best to make shafts for the community.

if anybody is still looking for a deal on the blower and shaft check out my signature - i dont want to thread jack but having spare parts like this is golden cause you can always fix up your existing after the swap. Once they are gone you aren't going to find a blower till someone takes theirs off
