Default SC is getting yanked -UPDATE- My baby is comin home!

Just got a call from the dealer. The SC is getting yanked and they're ripping down the motor right now. Reason: massive oil consumption and a cel for a fried cat. They said the SC sounded horrible when they test drove it.

^and they should turn their head cause they know thats not your point of failure. A good dealer will not give you any issues when a legit point of failure is found and it has nothing to do with a cars mods.

has little to do with the dealer. they need to get paid somehow...you or toyota... toyota will not pay if they know about the smaller pulley or some other mod they told you specifically not to make.
now if the dealer can't tell he has a smaller pulley, or don't report it...

and the fried cat is pretty much standard fare on these cars, especially after the trd flash. mine went 9 months after install.

good luck.

it is also about giving good service to your buyer. A good dealer will fully evaluate things and if you messed things up then you are obligated to pay - if something gets messed up and has nothing to do w/ the other part ...then why should the owner pay? There is no way a cat blew cause of the s/c that didnt have much miles on the car. It takes a while to blow a pretty new cat out.

^ not really. its about the dealer getting paid for work..and if toyota won't cover the warranty, then someone has to pay.
but let's get off the tired topic of who should pay on warranty.
the facts are the facts. and they specifically tell you not to change the pulley and bpv..

and speaking of facts...do a search and you'll find many tc owners are blowing cats wayyy early. especially after the overly rich trd tune. mine went at 18k miles, just 6k miles after the s/c. the clown face guy in tx had his blow in 500 miles. there are many many others. there is even a tsb on an upgraded cat...
not saying its just the s/c..but the rich tune, more ethanol, weak butt cat to begin with...it all adds up.
