Pito is his tuner, engine builder, wiring expert, and friend. I heard from Robert that he has worked with the AEM before. So I think hes going to be ok. I hope so. LOL

That is besides the point considering AEM doesnt make a box for the tC. Only Dezod sells a box for the tC that is moded. Thus not being backed by AEM or Warantied by AEM so when it takes a crap AEM wont hook you up with a waranty since the box has been tampered with. Just a lil helpfull knowledge from one tC builder to another.

I love my hydra ^^

I'm sure you were just being nice, but i'm pretty sure he'll be more than fine with the AEM.

I think it would be kind of hard to get a warranty out of an EMS manufacturer, when there are so many variables involved in a build. It could be blamed on almost anything. New cars are also under warranty, but then again Dealers can be complete a**holes when it comes time to call in the warranty card.

Do your thing puerto rico =)

I'm not following...the aem ems is a standalone, so shouldn't it work with any car? Did hydra make a model specific for the tC?

I believe it should. But it doesn't say it supports a scion tc, although it has successfully worked on it.

Just like my Apexi Digital Boost Controller, it works on my car, but the scion tc is not listed on their site or in the manual as being supported.

The hydra ems I have has specific settings set by the manufacturer, for example fuel pulse type, and some other complicated settings, lol. I'm not quite sure how dezod or other tuners have setup the aem to work with the tc.

But if it has as many settings or more than the hydra. I can see how it would be more beneficial to get a hydra, than an aem.

I believe the tC is not supported because it is drive by wire and the AEM EMS cannot control drive by wire yet... that is why dezod made a harness for it so the stock ECU controls only the drive by wire and the EMS controls the rest... I may be wrong lol...

There are diff things that go into the programing of an ECU for the specifi car. The AEM box is a modified Honda box that is able to control V-Tec. It band aids over to VVT-i but not to nicely. The AEM EMS is perfect for a Subaru which has the same variable valve timing that our cars have. Yes it makes a difference if the box was made for the car wasnt made for the car. If i going to spend the 2500 Dezod is selling it for I ld get a Motec for an extra 500 bucks. Also AEM will not support or be able touble shoot any type of problem that may comout wile tunning the box the only person that is Paul (who is a very knowlegeable person) but my tunner brought a valid point what if he doesnt have the answer thaour up S*it creek with out a paddle. like the hydra for one made for the tC specifically, Has tech support threw Hydra nemesis, and a waranty threw them as well.

A good answer indeed.

The hydra is the same way. They are still in develment of a completeing a plug and play unit. This may take a few years as it did with the 2004 STi's which also have drive by wire. That also is notreason since the IS300's werent supported by AEM either due to the fact they werent able to control the VVT-I it is not the drive by wire that is a factor it is the VVT-I this. This was all information that was accuriedew many sources of researching which EMS i should get and would work the best with my car.

I was gonna get an AEM back when I got my turbo kit. I decided on the hydra mainly, because they supported it lol. Not to mention it was a cheaper solution than the AEM. ^^

I could have swarn the AEM EMS that dezod uses is the Universal ems that aem sells. I believe the Universal ems is capable of tuning vvt-i, but again I haven't read up on that as much as you. All I know is that when dezod first started advertising the ems they stated it can tune vvti....
