Default Sheet Metal Intake....

I'm meeting up with a guy that used to make them for the DSM world. I had one of his intakes on my Eclipse and we're going to talk about production for the tc's. I was wondering if anyone had one built already and what TB they used. The Nitto 500hp TC has one, but they don't have pics on the site of the intake anymore. I want to get a feel as to how many people might be interested in these. Price won't be determined for awhile. but as an estimate.. the one i bought for my Eclipse was $700... and i've never seen a weld bead so beatiful!

the guys name is BJ.. as in.....

Don't need one now, but you never know how far I may push the tC.

I dont' think I understand what this is, where it goes, and what it's for.
Can someone explain? Perhaps show a pic of where it would go on our engine?

Its just a sheet metal intake manifold - it would replace the black plastic factory one, and basically if i understand correctly they are able to flow more air in boosted applications.

id have to measure it up and then lay it out. so it would probably be about a 6-8 hr project and i could do it for less then 700.

idk id have to measure it up to see how much material it will take to build it and it also depends on what material you want it made of.....Aluminum is rather pricey right now but it fluctuates daily. its definitely not 700 dollars worth of aluminum tho. I could draw it up on my laptop and do most the work on the CNC machine

Only 4 hrs away? where you located?

Watching this... But wouldn't removing/installing the manifold on our cars mean pretty much removing the engine?

I am outside Chicago, but my mom lives in Tennessee, so I pass through often.

It would be a lot of work, but I eventually plan on doing the internals on the block and swapping out the head for a built head. So I would swap the intake at the same time.

The intake manifold is on the opposite side of your exhaust manifold. So instead of in the front it's in the back of the motor. If you stand on the drivers side and look in the back of the motor you should be able to see it. If I remember correctly tha is the best way to see it.

I'd be interested. I think there is one already made for the tC's as well.

Magnus is working on one thanks to me. I sent them my spare one and it is a bit simpler since the injector bosses are on the head and not the intake manifold. Throttle bosy may have to be moved but really since this is a mod for the big boost guys, that shouldn't matter since some custom fab is in the cards for them anyway.
