Has anyone ever stress tested the stock rods to see how much they will hold under boosted applications?

 

few cars have tested the stock rods to its limits, i think the guy from PR went above 350 hp i think on 16 psi on stock internals,, after they opened the motor for upgrade they found a bent rod.. ptuning time attack tc previously have stock internals around 320-330ish hp above 12 psi boost if i remembered it right

 

around 350+ are the stock rods limits

 

I had one scion go 380whp with stock bottom end... But bent a rod bcuz of lean conditions

 

shot peening wont prevent bending.

shot peening will introduce desireable compressive residual stresses to improve fatigue life but it will not make the rod stronger.
