Default Sigh....Motormount Issues I hope.....details inside.

so now i have broken motor mounts .....finally i get everything going right then one of my motor mounts break. :sigh: so until zpi gets a final release i have to go order some OEM ones and what really sucks is that im broke right now ..

ok let me go into more detail.

I have an a/t, when im driving and im crusing and slowly accl if im 45+ mph the car shakes...and it sounds like im driving on a flat tire. but the tires are properly flated, so after talking to a few people theyare saying its my motor mounts. But yesterday I had just got done driving and i herd a knocking sound at idle when i was in my garage about to turn it off. I havent driven it since yesterday and tomorrow unfortunatly I must drive my car to get to work. Any ideas/insights on what it might be.

I wonder if using a engine damper like the stiffy puts extra stress on the mounts. Do u have the stiffy installed?

Turbo + engine not moving = Somethings gotta give. I don't know, maybe, maybe not, possibly.

I still have a tube of 3m window weld I'm going use to fill the gaps in my mounts.

Well call ZPI's shop and ask Joey to check the back seat of my car for lose change to start the fund.
But I hope you get the issue resolved very quick, so you can get your beast back on the street.

Two words:

JUNK YARD pull them off a wrecked (body damaged) TC...

But first you're going to have to find out which ones are messed up.. alot of what you've told me so far is assumption. We need to look at it...

i feel for peteyd....he's had so many issues.

one after another after another

the only suggestion i can give is get back under your hood and inspect your mounts find out which ones are bad and look around.

the OEM mounts are pretty stout, i find it weird that the mounts just "gave out" that easily

its just my luck. i have the worst luck in the world. if i were to go in to the details of the problems im acutally going through right now youd probably have a heart attack from feeling bad for me. but i just take witha grain a salt and try to hold my head up(its hard but i try)

I think it sounds like you need a set of motor mounts and a damper...

especially in a boosted car..

Give me a call cause there might be something else going on there besides a mount.. i.e. suspension issues..

Shaking while driving.. possibly a motor mount.. but not what I have typically seen a bad mount do. If it is vibrating more than normal maybe. Try power braking it for a second (not too long.. dont want to overheat the tranny) and letting off quickly while someone watches under the hood. If it is a badly broken mount you will most likely hear a clunk when you let off. I dont want to start undue panic, but the issue you are describing I have seen a few times... on damaged automatic trannies. Shuddering while accellerating from a cruising speed. But have someone help you check the mounts out well before tearing into anything.
