if you know how to, it is cheaper to make your own turbo kit. but you better know what your doing or you'll be buying a new engine which is more expensive than any turbo kit on the market

You know, I've been trying to piece a kit together, and I guess I'm shooting to high, cause I can't seem to find parts that add up costing less then the ZPI kits.

If it helps, its going for a mere $2200 at www.turbo-kits.com right now. Management and an intercooler and what else would be needed?

look it is up to you and it is a serious gamble and the pay offs aren't worth it. either save a few hundred bucks doing it yourself, or save a couple thousand not risking your engine. the payout simpley doesn't justify the risk if you don't know exactely what your doing.

Just as Mr. Meaty, I also was looking at doing a custom kit, but found out through much research buying the Stage 0 is well worth it. It allows the flexibility to upgrade for more power, or remain at a very safe 6psi for daily driving. Go with stage 0, the custom kit is not as simple as finding all the parts and putting them together. A lot of money will go into tuning and making sure all the parts are compatible with each other.

some blow off valves can be recirculated back into the intake... no noise!

If you get the stage 0, use it as a stepping stone towards getting a more complete turbo. Upgrade to the stage 1 with your next mod.

No BOV is really "needed" if you do not have an intercooler. The piping to the intercooler holds the boost pressure that a BOV is made to "blow off."

Many Honda kids run around without intercooler or BOV and are fine at low boost.

they are fine, but they cause compressure surge which is bad for the life of your turbo, intercooler or not. besides, it is just so damn cool sounding.

Well apparently you do not know California...Let me find the slogan found on California Highway Patrols Website.

Remember - FTBC (failure to be cool) is not a crime!

There it is ...
