Default Spark plug gouges

Hey guys I had my spark plugs out yesterday to inspect for anything strange and I found that all 4 had these small scores that run about half across the width of the electrode ground

Anyone ever seen something like this before?

i've only seen this when the spark plug is too deep into the engine, meaning it's the wrong spark plug for your engine. Something is contacting that plug inside the engine causing those score marks. I bet they all looked like that, yup just re-read your message, please don't run that engine until you can get new plugs..

what plugs were you using in there?

edit: I see you're boosted, then the stock type plugs wouldn't work such as ngk part #4589. You should get in touch with dezod and ask them what part number they recommend, since yours are too deep into the combustion chamber making contact.

These are plugs that I got from Dezod, they're one step colder NGK Iridiums (BKR7EIX-11)

They've been in my car for about a year and a half (about 17k miles) so I feel like if contact was being made they would have broke by now...

Who installed them? The marks dont look fresh so my guess is that was from gapping them.

Been meanin to update this thread. That's exactly what the marks are. I was gspping a fresh set when I realized I was leaving very similar marks in my new set and the obvious dawned on me.
