sticky wastegate... i'm guessing thats the problem with my setup??

when i tap on the gas... it kinda jerks... but under a lil boost its fine... just about when i tap the gas a lil bit like when im easy drivin..or shifting into gears under easy acceleration... it kinda jerks...

wastegate?? ive been obsessed with this all friggin night! !

 

what kinda sucks is that earlier tonight on the freeway one of my IC pipes popped off while i was on the 605 freeway... had to pull over cuz i couldnt gas it... trying to put that sucker on while semi's were passing me @ 75+ . that was scarier than $_!t...

but yea... is it my wastegate that is exhibiting these symptoms??

wastegate only opens under full boost, so I would say no, it's not your wastegate. BOV maybe.

 

Not true. The wastegate is constantly moving. It starts creaping open at the instant boost is created, opens more and more and is fully opened at the spring pressure rating.

I knew I was going to get jumped for that comment. We can split hairs on how vaguely I worded my original post, but I still stand by my comment that it's probably not the wastegate.

The problem described doesn't really sound like a problem. It sounds more like what happens when you "tap" the gas. Things jerk, when you're giving part throttle then no throttle.

Couple that with drive by wire, which has a bit of noticable lag, and it makes the "problem" more pronounced.

 

i really dont know... the BOV doesnt seem probable... maybe... but i checked everything... the vac line... the nut on top....


you see... the wastegate was making this kinda sound::: LIKE THE MORRIS CODE... beep beepbeepbeepbeep beep.... and when i cover the hole on top... its quiet...

why is this??

what kind of turbo are you running....might just be a lil compressor surge.

I need to make a turbokit...

but yea.. now its kind of "blubbering" blub blub in the intital tap of the gas... this is ___...
