Default Still having problems with TRD S/C

Just installed s/c, nst 9.5lb pulley, weapon r header and gates belt, turboxs bpv and losing all power at 7.5lbs boost. Returned to stock pulley and belt and having same problem. Tech drove vehicle while hooked up to techstream and found throttle is being cut by 50% when I hit this range. We have already removed TRD remap and reinstalled but no change. Any ideas?

I think your best bet would be to fork out a little money, and have it finished professionally. While doing it yourself might be cheaper, the results can have bad impact on your vehicle. But then again there might be somebody here who can help you with that. Good luck!

Thats weird. When you mean it looses all power, do you mean it turns off on you or just looses the pull.

hmmm...the tc doesn't have any sensors for boost pressure does it? so it can't be at a certain boost level...right? shouldn't it be rpm related? does the wastegate have different springs for releasing boost? would it be released boost at 7.5 psi?

well, i know that if you swap to a higher psi pulley with the stock bpv, it will release boost in excess of 7 psi, so no matter how much boost your pulley could make, the stock bpv that comes with the kit won't let you go over 7 psi. so you have to upgrade the bpv to see over 7 psi with a new pulley.

the bosch 110 should allow for boost over 7 psi, litereally looks just like the original bosch 102 that comes with the supercharger kit, but it has stronger internals to hold mroe boost.

I work at a Scion dealer and it was professionally installed. The problem has existed since initial install with the stock BPV and now with the turboxs. There are no sensors for boost so the computer has no idea how much i'm boosting. The tech opened a case through toyota today and i'll keep you guys updated. Thanks for the information. The worst part of it is I took off the NST pulley because i thought that was the problem. Nothing like losing easy hp

Tech opened a case w/ toyota? I dont know what for bro your warranty is as good as cancelled. You're on your own with this one. If I had to speculate I could say you're TurboXS is venting boost past 7.5. It's a 50/50 recirc right? Something is awry there. Change to stock bpv w the 9.5 lb pulley and see how it runs, if theres no problem, you probably just need to can the turboxs and get a bosch 110 or a forge 007.

initially I had the stock BPV on and the same problem happened. I was driving home today and found out I do not have to be at high boost. For some reason I can not hold any type of boost for more than a couple seconds. If I am hard on the gas and boost quick its ok, but if I stay constant on the pedal and gradually gain boost, I loose it. At this point everything is stock, so calling tech for assistance will not be a problem.

So your car is constantly blowing off when you get on it? Do you have your secondary cat still in the car?
